Hello,
I'm Deborah,
And I'll be guiding you through this beautiful future self meditation.
At the end of the meditation,
There'll be a gentle bow that you'll hear,
And you'll need a journal or something to write down any insight that you have from this.
Spend the next few moments getting completely comfortable,
And when you're ready,
We're going to take about three deeper than normal breaths,
So all at your pace,
Begin to inhale really slowly,
Know when the lungs are full,
The belly's lifted,
And just let it out like a beautiful,
Sweet sigh,
Through the nose or mouth.
Repeat this another couple of times,
And as you feel yourself releasing the breath,
Feel that sigh soften the whole body.
If you feel you need to repeat this,
Do a couple more,
Trust that you know what is right,
So we release,
We soften,
And drop any obvious tension,
And after your last one,
Allow the breath just to flow.
Stay aware of the space around your navel,
Knowing that there's no holding in,
There's no tension,
And you can feel the rise and fall evenly in the chest and belly,
Allow the breath to be as it wants to be,
Be it soft and gentle,
Or just the rise and fall.
And then move into the sensations of the breath,
As you gently,
Naturally inhale,
Maybe a subtle sensation of feeling lighter,
As you breathe out,
There may be a sense of becoming heavier.
Just for the next few breaths,
Allow yourself to move through,
Shift from these sensations,
Lighter and heavier,
And I want you to take your awareness to your eyes now,
Feel that you're not straining them,
You're not trying to see or focus here,
So feel the muscles behind the eyes sink back,
And I want you to feel as though you're looking towards the top of a mountain,
Tall hill,
So we feel the eyes shift up a little,
But if you feel any strain coming back into the eyes,
We can still let that drop,
And the breath continues to flow.
Begin to take yourself to your favourite place in nature,
Where you feel really comfortable,
Safe and happy.
Look around,
Notice the colours,
The shades of green,
The colours of nature,
The sounds of nature.
Whisper silently or quietly,
I am safe,
Supported and protected.
Start now to feel a warm enveloping your body,
And trust,
Feel or visualise that you are standing in the most beautiful column of golden light.
This column of light reaches right up into the sky above you,
Just like a beautiful beam of sunshine,
And you start to feel a sense of lightness move through your entire body,
As though you can float and lift up,
Leaving behind any heaviness and that pull of gravity.
Allow yourself to start rising up and ascend up into the column of beautiful golden light,
Until you're as high as the trees,
And higher than the trees,
Moving higher still towards the sky,
Through the clouds,
Until you enter up into space.
As you look around now,
You're aware of the millions and millions of twinkling stars around you,
And you can still see our beautiful planet Earth below.
You feel just as at home amongst the stars,
As you do in your favourite place in nature.
You can sense the hum of space,
And the planets.
Allow yourself to take it all in,
And as you look to your right,
You can see a shimmering bridge,
And the other side of that shimmering bridge,
There's a blue light.
You're drawn to this bridge and blue light.
You know that the path ahead will give you clarity,
Answers and wisdom that you need on your journey.
Step onto the shimmering bridge towards the blue light.
See yourself now within the blue light,
And allow yourself to gently descend down,
Down towards your home in the future.
Gently down,
Until you can feel your feet on the ground again.
You are looking now at your front door.
Decide before you knock,
Whether this is your future self of just one month,
Six months,
One year or five years.
Don't overthink it,
Go with whatever feels right.
You make your decision,
And gently knock on the door.
Your future self opens the door,
Smiles warmly at you,
And invites you inside.
Here,
Take your time,
Look at your future self.
What's different about them?
How does their energy feel?
What is it that you can see?
What is it that you feel you now know?
Your future self passes you a beautiful journal.
Inside is a message that is ready for you to read,
And you are ready to hear.
You open the book and see your message.
Allow yourself to smile,
Take your hands to your heart,
And whisper thank you.
You embrace your future self,
And you absorb their energy.
Everything they know,
You now know.
Their energy blends with your energy.
You feel deeply grateful to have received this wisdom.
Knowing now it's time to leave,
You leave feeling guided,
Empowered and wise.
You close the door behind,
And you step back into the column.
Allow yourself to become as light as a feather again,
And as you ascend up,
Up towards the sky,
Back amongst the stars.
Then here the shimmering bridge awaits,
And you step back onto it,
And stay here for a moment,
And feel whether there's anything you can release,
Anything you're ready to let go of.
What are you ready to let go of?
What are you ready to leave behind?
When you feel ready,
Let it go.
Release over the side of the bridge into infinite space.
As you release,
You instantly feel lighter and free.
You feel as if you've created space within you,
Where it once felt so heavy.
When you feel ready,
Step back into the golden column of light.
Gently float back down,
Descending through the clouds,
Over the trees,
Until you arrive back at your favourite place in nature.
Sense gravity again,
And the support of Mother Earth beneath your feet.
When you feel ready,
Take a slow,
Gentle inhale,
And release it like a sweet sigh.
You're in pace now.
Become aware of your surroundings.
When you're ready to open your eyes,
Write in your journal any message,
Words,
Or insight you received,
Knowing now what your next step will be.
