Welcome to finding safety in uncertain times.
I'm so glad you're here.
My name is Judy.
Today we're exploring what it means to stay centered in chaos,
Not by escaping what's happening around us,
But by remembering our capacity to remain grounded and sovereign within it.
So much of the world right now feels uncertain.
Systems are shifting,
Truths are unraveling,
And the nervous system can't quite find something solid to hold on to.
It's natural to feel unsettled when everything familiar begins to move,
But there's a deeper kind of safety available,
One that doesn't depend on circumstances.
It's the safety that arises when we remember who we are and where our true stability lives within our own presence.
When we return to our own center,
The body begins to soften,
The breath deepens,
The mind stops scanning for danger and instead starts listening.
This is where sovereignty begins,
Not as control but as calm,
Competent awareness.
So let's begin there.
Find a comfortable position where your body can rest easily.
Take a slow,
Deliberate breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Let that first breath be an invitation,
A signal to your whole being that you are safe to arrive here now.
When we talk about being grounded,
It isn't something abstract or mystical.
It's deeply physical,
The felt experience of being home in your body.
When the world feels heavy,
It's often because your awareness has drifted too far outward.
You're trying to hold everything,
The news,
The expectations,
The fears,
And your energy becomes stretched thin.
Grounding calls that energy home.
It gathers the scattered pieces of you and reminds you where you live.
Imagine a great tree standing in strong wind.
The branches bend and move but the roots remain steady.
The tree doesn't fight the wind,
It simply leans into its rootedness into the quiet strength beneath the surface.
That's what grounding does for us.
It doesn't stop the world from moving,
It helps us remember that the movement isn't who we are.
Feel the support beneath you now,
The floor,
The chair,
The earth.
Let your attention settle there.
Let your energy flow downward from the top of your head to the soles of your feet as if invisible roots were extending deep into the ground.
Those roots connect you to something ancient and unshakable,
The same earth that has held humanity through every storm.
You belong to that steadiness.
Let yourself rest into it.
Now bring your awareness to your breath.
There's no need to change it,
Just observe its rhythm.
As you inhale,
Feel the expansion in your chest or your belly.
As you exhale,
Sense the softening.
If your mind drifts,
That's perfectly fine.
Each time you notice,
That noticing is awareness returning.
You can quietly remind yourself,
I am here,
I am safe in this moment.
Scan your body gently,
Noticing where tension has gathered,
The shoulders,
Your chest,
Your stomach,
Maybe even your jaw.
These are often the places that try to protect us.
Wherever you feel tightness,
Breathe into it.
Imagine your breath moving directly into that space,
Softening it,
Offering permission to release.
You don't have to force relaxation,
Just acknowledge what's there.
Sometimes being witness is all a tense place to begin to unwind.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing what's not yours to carry.
The collective fear,
The noise,
Or the urgency that doesn't belong to you.
With each inhale,
Draw in steadiness,
Clarity,
And calm,
Confident authority.
Inhale stability,
Exhale what's heavy.
Let that rhythm continue for a few more breaths,
Feeling yourself return more fully to your own presence.
Sometimes calm feels inaccessible,
As though the more we try to find it,
The further it slips away.
That's because calm isn't something we chase,
It's something we allow.
You might,
For instance,
Think of yourself as the sky,
And your thoughts or emotions as weather.
The sky doesn't chase the storm away,
It simply remains vast,
Unbroken,
Eternal,
While the clouds pass through.
Even when the winds of change are strong,
The sky doesn't lose itself in them,
And neither do you.
So when you feel far from calm,
Try whispering inwardly,
I don't have to fix this,
I only have to include it.
Place a hand over your heart or your belly.
Feel the warmth of your own touch.
That gesture tells your body,
You're safe to feel what you feel.
Your calm doesn't come from the absence of storms,
It comes from remembering that you are the sky.
There's a quiet power that comes from being calm in a chaotic world.
Calm isn't passive,
It's presence.
It's the capacity to choose your response,
To stay aligned with what's true for you,
Even when the external world feels loud or confusing,
Even when it feels like it disagrees.
That's sovereignty.
Not a title,
Not dominance,
But self-governance.
The awareness that your peace,
Your thoughts,
And your choices belong to you.
In chaotic times,
The world needs calm people.
Not detached,
But deeply present.
People who can hold steady when others are unraveling.
But this doesn't mean you must hold everything together.
Your presence alone,
Your grounded energy,
Creates coherence.
When you regulate yourself,
You ripple regulation outward.
You remind others of what's possible.
Take a breath and imagine your calm as a quiet light in your chest.
It doesn't need to be radiant or forceful,
Just steady.
A soft inner flame that never goes out.
From that light,
You move differently.
You speak with more clarity.
You act with intention instead of impulse.
You trust your own timing.
You remember that even in the midst of uncertainty,
You are the constant.
This is the essence of sovereignty.
The capacity to remain self-led,
Even when the world around you isn't.
Now let's pause a moment and practice what this feels like in our bodies.
Let's deepen our awareness now.
Feel the rhythm of your breath again.
The inhale and exhale.
The rise and fall.
Sense your body fully supported.
Now draw your awareness into your heart.
With each inhale,
Imagine that inner light,
Your calm,
Your center,
Becoming stronger and more stable.
With each exhale,
Imagine that light radiating outward through your body and beyond.
Repeat these affirmations silently.
I am rooted and steady.
My calm is my strength.
I lead myself with clarity and compassion.
I am sovereign in my inner world.
One more time.
I am rooted and steady.
My calm is my strength.
I lead myself with clarity and compassion.
I am sovereign in my inner world.
Notice how your body responds to those words.
Do they create more space,
More ease?
Let that awareness settle through you like warmth.
This is what it means to be grounded and sovereign.
To be present,
Aware,
And connected to your own wisdom.
You don't have to know what comes next.
You just have to remember that you can meet it from your center.
Before we close,
I'll leave you with a few questions to deepen your awareness.
Ones you can journal with later or simply hold quietly in your heart.
What helps you feel most anchored when life around you feels unstable?
In what situations do you tend to give your power away to fear,
To pressure,
To urgency?
How might you begin to reclaim your calm as a form of sovereignty?
Let the answers come slowly.
Sometimes the insight is subtle at first,
But it unfolds over time just like roots deepening under the surface.
Now take a deep final breath in through your nose and release it gently through your mouth.
Notice the way your body feels now.
Perhaps a little heavier,
More settled,
More alive.
Even if the world around you hasn't changed,
Your relationship to it has.
You've remembered that calm is something you can return to.
Not a fragile state,
But a steady presence within you.
If today's session resonated with you,
I invite you to go deeper with me in my class,
The Hidden Crown,
Embodying the High Priestess.
It's a journey into sovereignty,
How to hold your energetic authority,
How to discern your truth amid collective noise,
And how to embody calm confidence that doesn't depend on approval or control.
Our world needs more grounded,
Self-led,
Sovereign souls.
People who can lead from clarity rather than fear.
If that calling stirs something in you,
That class will feel like home.
And if you'd like to stay connected,
You can follow me here on Insight Timer,
So you'll be notified as new meditations and classes are released.
Thank you for being here,
For choosing calm when chaos calls,
And for remembering the quiet power that lives within you.
May you walk in steady grace.
May your calm be your crown.
And may your sovereignty ripple peace into a world that needs it deeply.
