Hello everyone,
This is Coach Tan with a guided meditation.
This meditation is to help us focus on letting go of worry and rising through challenge.
And we will walk through this meditation while sharing the story of the eagle and the storm.
First,
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,
Seated or lying down.
Now,
Let's gently close your eyes and allow your hands to rest loosely on your lap or by your side.
Take a deep,
Slow breath in through your nose and release gently through your mouth.
Let's do this again.
Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale slowly,
Letting your body begin to settle.
Feel yourself arrive here in this moment.
There is nowhere else you need to be,
Nothing else you need to do.
Just be here with your breath.
With each breath,
Feel the weight of your body supported by the earth beneath you.
Imagine roots extending from your spine,
Your legs,
Your feet,
Deep into the soil,
Anchoring you,
Holding you.
Let you breathe deepens.
Slightly inhale,
Feel your belly expand.
Exhale,
Feel your body soften.
Now,
Bring gentle attention to your thoughts without judgment.
Notice what's been on your mind,
Worries,
Responsibilities,
Plans.
Let them float like leaves on a river.
With each exhale,
Let go of a little more.
Breathe in strength,
Breathe out tension.
Breathe in calm,
Breathe out fear.
You are here.
You are safe.
You are grounded.
Now,
I invite you to open your imagination and your heart to an old story,
A tale passed down by many Native American traditions,
A story about trust and rising through challenge.
Long ago,
The great spirit gave each creature a gift.
The bear was given strength,
The deer,
Grace,
The owl,
Wisdom,
And to the eagle,
The gift of vision and the freedom of the skies.
One day,
A young eagle approached the great spirit and asked,
Why do I always feel afraid when the storm comes?
The wind roars,
The sky grows dark,
And I feel small.
I want to run.
The great spirit replied,
You are not made to fear the storm.
You are made to rise within it.
The young eagle did not understand,
But he trusted the spirit's words.
So when the next storm came and all the other birds hid among the trees,
The eagle spread his wings and stepped into the wind.
The storm winds caught him and lifted him higher above the trees,
Above the clouds,
Above the chaos.
And from that great height,
The eagle saw clearly,
Storms are not obstacles.
They are invitations,
Invitations to rise,
To grow,
And to soar.
Now,
Take a deep breath in.
Let that story settle in your heart.
Let yourself sit with it.
Now gently ask yourself,
What storm are you in right now?
It may not be wind and rain.
It might be a storm of grief,
Anxiety,
Doubt,
Transition,
Uncertainty.
Can you name it?
What part of it are you holding tightly,
Trying to control?
Feel into your body.
Where do you feel the tightness,
The fear?
Is it in your chest,
Your jaw,
Your stomach?
Now breathe into that space.
Let your breath soften it just a little.
You don't have to fix it.
You don't have to fight it.
You only have to stop resisting.
The eagle doesn't fight the storm.
It rides it.
So now ask gently,
Where can I open my wings,
Even if I feel afraid?
Where can I let go,
Even just a little,
And trust the wind to carry me?
It's okay not to have the answers.
Trust isn't about certainty.
It's about remembering that you were made for this,
This life,
This moment,
This challenge.
You are not weak because you feel doubt.
You are strong because you keep going.
You don't need to be fearless.
You only need to be willing,
Willing to rise one breath at a time.
Now imagine yourself as the eagle.
Rise above the clouds.
The storm still exists below,
But up here it is quiet.
It is still.
It is clear.
Let the wind hold you.
Let the breath support you.
Say silently to yourself,
I am not my fear.
I am not my worry.
I am the one who flies.
Feel the space around you.
Spacious,
Vast,
Limitless.
You are not trapped.
You are not stuck.
You are free.
Each breath is a wingbeat.
Each breath is flight.
Slowly begin to return to your body.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Feel the air on your skin.
Gently wiggle your fingers,
Your toes.
Take a deep breath,
Full breath in through the nose and exhale with a sigh through the mouth.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Let your gaze return softly to the world around you.
Remember the eagle.
Remember the storm.
And remember,
You were not made to fear the winds.
You are made to fly through them.
Thank you for listening today.
Namaste.
