Hi,
I'm Carolina Gonzalez.
So glad you're here.
Let's talk about mindfulness.
You've probably heard this word everywhere.
So what does he actually mean?
Mindfulness is the ability to be in the present moment.
With no judgement.
And with curiosity.
That's it.
That's really it.
And when I teach this,
I usually point.
To three things.
Three pieces that make Mindfulness.
Mindfulness.
The first is.
.
.
Your body.
Mindfulness is something.
We do.
While we are engaged with our body.
Not in our heads.
So we're noticing sensations.
Our breath.
Sounds around us.
The feel of the chair or the floor underneath us.
We're coming back from living in our thoughts.
Into our body.
That is actually here.
The second.
Factor or part of mindfulness is inviting an attitude of non-judgment and kindness.
Whatever.
We know it is.
If our chest is a little bit tight,
If we are super busy in our mind or thoughts,
If we have a wave of anxiety.
We don't say,
Oh no,
I shouldn't feel like this,
What's wrong with me?
We simply invite a feeling of it's okay.
This is okay.
I'm here for you.
And the third part is curiosity.
A kind of fresh,
Open attention,
Like we're meeting this moment for the first time.
There's no need to analyze it.
There's no need to solve anything.
Just curiosity.
I mean,
What's actually here right now?
So why does any of this matter?
Why is mindfulness important?
So beneficial because much of life we spend it in our head replaying something that already happened or.
.
.
Projecting something that hasn't caught up in the story of our thoughts.
And while we're up here.
.
.
We miss what's right in front of us.
We miss the people we love.
We miss our own life,
Actually.
Mindfulness is the way back.
And.
.
.
Mindfulness allows us to.
.
.
Access our wisdom,
To access our intuition,
To experience joy,
To experience love because those can only be experienced in the present moment.
Not while in our heads.
Ruminating on the past.
Or projecting into events that.
Probably won't ever.
So before we finish.
.
.
Let me give you a tiny taste of it.
Wherever you are.
Simply feel your feet on the floor.
Or your body on the chair.
Notice one sound around you.
And take one slow breath in And now.
.
.
That pulse right there that is engaging your mindfulness muscles.
You don't need an hour,
You just need.
.
.
Tiny moment.
Thank you for being here with me.
