Welcome to this inner child meditation.
Find yourself in a comfortable space where you can fully relax and let go.
Allow your breath to be your guide as you open your heart to the child within.
This inner child meditation is part of a powerful series to help you reconnect and heal your inner child.
Each meditation in this series focuses on different aspects of inner child work.
Identifying and healing emotional wounds,
Rediscovering joy,
Offering forgiveness and reclaiming your inner strength.
By nurturing your inner child,
You create a foundation of self love,
Confidence and emotional freedom.
If or when emotions come up,
Just let them flow,
Only yourself and your inner child.
You can also push pause or come back tomorrow if you feel overwhelmed.
Take a moment now to settle in,
Knowing that this is a safe place for you to heal and grow.
Let's begin,
Take a deep breath in and slowly release it out.
Another deep breath in and let it go.
Now allow your breath to settle into a natural rhythm of slow deep breaths in and out of your body.
Fear of abandonment,
Just these words could have brought tension into your body,
So keep with your deep slow breaths.
As you inhale,
Bring in relaxation and as you exhale,
Let go of tension within.
You are an adult now and you can release this.
Keeping with your deep breaths in and out of your body and as you do,
Your shoulders are softening,
Your jaw is releasing.
Now let the muscles in your face just relax and allow your belly to soften.
With each breath,
Feel yourself sinking deeper and deeper into a place of calm and safety.
Now bring your awareness to your heart center.
Feel the soft rise and fall of your breath moving in and out of your chest.
Imagine a soft golden light forming in your heart space.
This light is warm,
Comforting and gentle.
It's the light of unconditional love.
A light that will guide you and protect you through this journey.
As you breathe,
Feel the golden light expanding through your chest.
With each inhale,
Feel it growing stronger.
With each exhale,
Feel it spreading through your entire body.
Down to your arms,
Your legs and up through to the crown of your head.
Let this light fill you with warmth and peace.
I invite you to gently begin to visualize your inner child.
See your younger self standing in front of you.
They may be five or six years old,
Or a little younger or older than this.
Just notice how they look.
Notice the expression on their face.
Do they look lonely?
Or do they look scared?
Whatever you see,
Just let it be okay.
Slowly walk towards your inner child.
Kneel down so that you are at eye level with them.
And softly say to them,
I see you.
I am here with you.
You are safe now.
Notice how your inner child responds.
They may look away or hesitate.
Or they may move towards you right away.
Whatever arises,
Stay with it.
Now gently take their hand and ask them,
When did you first feel alone?
When did you feel like no one was there for you?
Let the answers arise naturally.
You may remember a moment when you felt abandoned or rejected.
You may feel a deep sense of sadness or a sense of emptiness.
Or you may see an image of yourself sitting alone,
Just waiting for someone to come,
But no one did.
Whatever surfaces,
Breathe through it.
Hold space for the sadness.
Hold space for the pain.
Space for the emptiness.
For you are now safe.
Now say to your inner child,
I am sorry you felt alone.
I am sorry you had to carry that pain.
You didn't deserve to feel that way.
You are not alone anymore.
Feel the golden light begin to glow brighter.
With each inhale,
See it flowing towards your inner child.
Wrapping them in warmth and safety.
Now take their hand into yours and say,
You are not alone anymore.
I will always be with you.
You are safe with me.
I will never leave you alone.
See your inner child's face begin to soften.
See the light returning into their eyes.
Feel the warmth of connection growing between you and them.
Let them know you are loved.
You are seen.
You are important.
You belong here.
Now imagine gathering your inner child into your arms and holding them close.
Let them feel the warmth of your heart beating against theirs.
Let them feel the steadiness of your breath as you hold them and say,
You are safe with me.
You will never be left behind.
I will always protect you.
You are home now.
Feel your inner child relaxing into your embrace.
Feel the tension,
Fear and sadness begin to melt away.
See them glowing with the golden light.
Soft,
Whole and safe.
Now gently release the embrace and see your inner child stepping back.
Still surrounded by the golden light.
See them standing taller now.
More confident.
More at peace.
And let them know you are never alone.
I am always with you.
You are whole.
Now imagine your inner child merging with the golden light.
See that light returning to your heart and becoming part of you.
Feel the warmth of this connection resting within you.
Take another last deep breath in and slowly release it out.
Feel the strength and peace of knowing that you are no longer alone.
You are supported.
You are loved.
You are whole.
When you are ready,
Gently bring your awareness back into your body.
Notice the surface beneath you.
Feel the warmth of your hands and the soft rhythm of your breath.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Slowly open your eyes.
Sit with the feelings of peace and connection for this moment.
Know that you have created a space where you and your inner child are safe,
Loved and whole.
