Welcome,
I'm Bethany and I'm honored to guide you here today.
I welcome you to start by finding a comfortable place to be still,
Allowing yourself to arrive.
You may want to sit or lie down,
Whatever feels like it lets your body feel most supported right now.
Take a nice breath in through the nose and a slow exhale out of your mouth.
Breathe in through your nose and exhale slowly out through your mouth.
There is nowhere you need to go and nothing you need to do.
I invite you to allow yourself to simply be here.
I want to invite you to imagine or feel yourself entering into a beautiful forest with ancient trees that rise up around you,
Their roots spreading deep beneath the ground.
Notice the air smells of damp,
Warm soil and cedar and pine.
Beneath your feet,
The earth goes down,
Down,
Down,
Stones and roots all the way to the center of the earth.
You are standing on something that has held every living creature that has ever walked upon it.
Allow that awareness to land for a moment.
Now,
Bring your awareness to the base of your spine,
Your tailbone,
The pelvic floor,
The place where your body meets whatever is beneath you.
This is your root chakra,
The energetic center of your survival,
Your safety,
Your sense of belonging in a body and a family and on this earth.
Begin to notice what you feel and experience here in this space.
Perhaps it's tension,
Warmth,
Numbness or a pulsing.
Whatever is present for you,
Just notice it without needing to change anything.
Gently ask inward,
Is there a part of me that never fully feels safe?
A part that scans,
Braces,
Keeps an eye on the door?
If you sense it,
Just acknowledge it.
You don't need to fix it at the moment.
Again,
Just let this part know you see it,
You feel it,
You know it's here.
Ask this part,
How long have you been doing this for me?
These vigilant parts often learned their work very early.
Before there were words for danger,
They became alert because alertness was necessary at that time.
Can you find even a small appreciation for how hard this part has worked to protect you and try to help you feel safe?
And now if it feels right for you,
Ask the part gently,
Now that you feel me here with you and you're not alone,
Would you be willing to rest just for a few moments?
Not forever,
Just right now.
Could you allow yourself to relax and soften and rest?
You don't have to convince it,
Just offer the invitation.
Let the part of you,
From your heart or your center,
The witness,
Feel like it can fully hold this part and notice if that supports even more softening from this vigilant part.
From the deepest,
Most settled place within you,
The part that is never broken,
Sometimes called the self,
Let this truth move toward whatever feels unrooted and unsafe.
Use these words or words that feel right for you.
You belong here.
You have always belonged here.
The earth does not question your right to stand upon it.
You are meant to be here.
Let these words and the deep knowing land inside wherever they can.
Now,
I invite you to breathe into the base of your spine.
Feel a warmth there.
Feel a red light like a garnet or the red leaves in the fall,
Pulsing slowly like the rhythm of the earth itself.
All parts of you,
The watchful ones,
The frightened ones,
The ones who stopped trusting,
Are welcome to rest here just for now.
Bring these words with you as we return and return to these words throughout your day as you need them.
I am safe in this moment.
I belong to this earth.
I am held.
I am home.
Begin to feel the weight of your body coming back into the here and now.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes and begin to slowly look around your room.
You are rooted.
You are whole.
You are home.
