Welcome in.
This is calm in minutes.
If disappointment has left you doubting yourself,
This meditation offers a few quiet minutes to slow down and begin your return to trust.
Find a comfortable position.
You can either sit or lie down.
Let your hands rest softly where they are,
And if it feels safe,
Close your eyes or lower your gaze.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And gently exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale deeply.
And as you exhale,
Allow your body to begin to soften.
Let yourself be here without needing to have answers right now.
If disappointment has left you feeling shaken,
Tired,
Or unsure of yourself,
Just notice that gently.
Sometimes disappointment does more than hurt.
It makes us question our judgement.
It makes us replay what happened.
It makes us wonder if we should have known better.
If that is what you are carrying,
Take another slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let yourself put down the need to figure it all out at this moment.
Bring your awareness to your body.
Notice your forehead.
Your jaw,
Your shoulders.
Your hand.
Your belly.
Notice where the weight of this disappointment might be resting.
Breathe into those places with kindness.
You are allowed to feel hurt.
You are allowed to feel uncertain.
And you are still allowed to trust that you can meet yourself here with care.
Repeat,
I am learning from this.
I don't need to punish myself to grow.
I can rebuild trust with myself gently.
Take a slow inhale and imagine offering compassion to the part of you that feels let down.
The part that hoped.
The part that tried.
The part that may feel embarrassed,
Tender,
Or tired.
On your next exhale,
Release a little of the self-blame.
You don't need to carry it all.
Self-trust is not believing you will never be hurt.
It's knowing that even when life is hard,
You can return to yourself.
You can listen inward.
You can care for yourself honestly.
Breathe in and quietly say,
I can trust myself again.
Breathe out and say,
One gentle step at a time.
Let your shoulders soften.
Let your jaw unclench.
Let your breath become slower and steadier.
Continue resting here for a little longer.
There is no need to rush your healing.
There's no need to become fearless overnight.
You are beginning again.
This time with a little more tenderness and more truth.
When you're ready,
Begin to bring yourself back to full awareness.
Notice the surface beneath you.
The air around you.
The gentle rhythm of your breath.
Take one more deep inhale.
And a complete exhale.
As you open your eyes or lift your gaze,
Carry this with you.
Disappointment does not define you.
You are still worthy of your own trust,
And you can come back to yourself in your own time.
Namaste.
