Take a slow,
Easy breath and allow yourself to settle.
Feel the support beneath you.
There's nothing to accomplish right now.
Simply arrive.
Imagine yourself approaching an ancient watchtower standing quietly on a hill.
Through changing seasons,
Fierce storms,
And calm days alike.
It has remained steady.
This tower represents the place of awareness within you.
Part of you that notices every experience without becoming lost in it.
Picture yourself climbing the spiral staircase one step at a time.
With each step,
Leave behind the need to fix.
Control.
Or understand everything.
You are simply returning to the deepest part of yourself.
As you reach the top,
Look out across the landscape of your inner world.
Notice your thoughts drifting like clouds across the sky.
Some are pleasant.
Some are uncomfortable.
Some linger while others disappear.
You do not need to follow them or push them away.
Simply let them pass.
Now observe your emotions.
They are like the weather.
Always changing.
Joy comes and goes.
Fear comes and goes.
Grief comes and goes.
The weather moves through the sky,
But the sky itself remains unchanged.
Become aware of the quiet observer within you.
This observer does not judge.
It simply witnesses with compassion.
Perhaps you notice the voice that seeks approval.
Or wonders if it is enough.
Rather than arguing with it.
Simply acknowledge it.
Thank it for trying to protect you.
Then let it drift by like another passing cloud.
Notice any fears,
Doubts,
Memories,
Or plans for the future.
Let each one come and go naturally.
There is a deeper place within you that is untouched by all of it.
This awareness has been with you through every season of your life.
While circumstances have changed,
Awareness itself has remained constant.
Jewish wisdom reminds us.
Be still and know.
Stillness is not the absence of thoughts.
It is remembering that you are more than your thoughts and more than your emotions.
Rest here for a few quiet breaths.
Observe without becoming entangled.
Witness without resisting.
Be fully present.
From this place compassion grows.
Fear loses its grip.
The heart remembers its quiet strength.
As you return,
Know that you never leave this watchtower behind.
It lives within you.
With a single conscious breath.
You can always return to this place of steady awareness.
Take one more slow,
Deep breath.
Feel your body.
Feel the room around you.
Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Carrying this quiet witness into the rest of your day.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
Many blessings on your Watchtower journey.
