You’re the hero of your motherhood journey. It can feel overwhelming, exhausting, and unnerving. That’s all for one reason: you’re at the center of it. I will use visualization to help you to reconnect with yourself, to take your first step of becoming the hero of your own journey. This is part 2 of a 7-part series of meditations.

Hello and welcome to a meditation on starting your motherhood journey.

This is part two.

Please be seated in a comfortable chair with both feet flat on the ground.

When you're ready,

Take a deep breath and close your eyes.

With your eyes closed,

Would you notice your body and would you check in with the different parts of your body?

Notice your feet and your legs,

Your torso and your back,

Your arms and hands and your neck and your head.

You can notice any feelings or sensations or anything that your body is communicating with you.

You can feel free to wiggle and stretch throughout this meditation and breathe.

Notice the work that you did in the last meditation in part one.

You may notice certain things that you've released already,

That you've let go of.

You may also notice that there's still some work to be done.

Remember,

You're on a journey and you don't need to rush.

Go at your own pace and breathe.

Tuning in to that imaginative,

Creative part of you,

Would you visualize a new grounding cord,

A new line of energy that connects you at the base of your spine and goes all the way down into the center of the earth and breathe.

If this grounding cord doesn't work for you or you feel unsure,

You can always imagine it being blown up and you can create a new one that connects you at the base of your spine and goes down into the center of the earth.

This grounding cord will help you to feel safe and feel connected to the earth.

It will also give you a way to release.

So with your grounding cord set in meditation,

Would you notice any energy that you're still holding on to from today?

You might notice this as a feeling or a sensation.

It may be a certain place in your body that feels tight or off.

It may be from your day at work or at home.

It may be something you experienced on your own or with your children.

Whatever you're ready to let go of,

Would you start to release it down your grounding cord?

Release it down into the center of the earth and breathe.

Would you notice any energy or anything that you're still holding on to from this week?

It may have been a specific event that happened that was difficult.

It also may have been something wonderful.

It may have been a special event with your children,

Something during the day,

Or even something during the night.

Whatever you're ready to let go of,

Would you release it down your grounding cord?

Whatever it may be,

It's okay if it's the smallest thing or if it's the biggest thing.

It's okay if it seems tedious.

It's okay if it seems important.

You can let it go.

Now we will take it one step further and breathe.

Notice any energy that you're holding on to about the future.

This may be an upcoming project,

An upcoming plan that you have for yourself or for your family.

There may even be some stress or anxiety about the future.

Whatever you're ready to let go of,

Send it down your grounding cord.

Letting it go does not mean that your plans will fall apart or you won't complete your goals.

It just means that you're making more room for you so you can feel more authentically yourself and more authentically yourself as a mother.

Breathe.

From that imagining and visualizing part of you,

Would you imagine a beautiful golden sun above you?

And would this golden sun be completely and totally filled with your unique energy,

The energy that makes you,

You?

And as if you were laying out on a warm summer day,

Would you just allow for your golden sun to shine into your body,

Giving you more of your unique energy?

Have your golden sun shine down into your feet,

Into your legs,

So these parts of you are filled with your energy.

Breathe.

Have your golden sun shine down into your hips,

In your torso.

And if there's a place where you notice things feel stuck or off,

Send more of your energy into that place.

Have your golden sun shine down into your back and your shoulders,

Almost as if you were filling up your body like you would fill up a cup with water.

Shine down the sun so much that it fills up all the way into your arms and hands,

Into your neck,

And all the way up into your head.

Filling you with your own energy from the tips of your toes to the very top of your head.

Fill in for just a moment longer.

And then when you're completely filled up,

Would you imagine this golden sun being blown up?

Not getting rid of your energy,

But just making space for when you're ready for a new golden sun.

Breathe.

And would you tell your body that you'll be coming out of meditation?

And when you're ready to come out,

Would you gently open your eyes and fully come out of meditation?
