Hello and welcome to a meditation on starting your motherhood journey.
This is part one.
Before we begin,
Please be seated in a comfortable chair with both feet flat on the ground.
When you're ready,
Take a deep breath and close your eyes.
And with your eyes closed,
Would you start to tune in to your other senses?
Would you notice the sound around you?
The sound of my voice?
Notice the senses of your skin?
The feeling of your clothes on your body?
Or the temperature of your skin?
And breathe.
As mothers,
Our attention and focus is constantly outside of ourselves.
And so,
Would you start to tune in inside of you to the part of yourself that imagines?
The part of yourself that sees?
And would you imagine a line of energy that connects you at the base of your spine all the way into the center of the earth?
And breathe.
This line of energy is called a grounding cord.
And would you notice how does your body feel with a grounding cord?
You may notice a certain emotion coming up.
It may be something happy or a feeling of sadness or fear.
You may also notice a memory or a thought come up.
Whatever you notice is correct.
Breathe.
And if you're not sure about your grounding cord,
That's completely fine.
Would you imagine this grounding cord being blown up?
And we're going to make some space and room for a new grounding cord.
So,
Tuning in to that same part of you,
The part that imagines,
Would you visualize a new grounding cord?
And you can choose a special color or a material that makes you happy.
And would you have it connect you at the base of your spine and go all the way down into the center of the earth?
And breathe.
With your grounding cord set,
I'm going to open up some ideas.
And as I speak of them,
You can start to release anything that doesn't serve you,
Anything that you're ready to let go of,
Down your grounding cord into the earth,
Where the earth will take any unwanted energy and neutralize it.
Would you notice any feelings or emotions that you've been holding on to?
These may be located anywhere in your body,
But you may especially notice them in your low back and abdomen.
As mothers,
We are very,
Very sensitive to our own feelings,
Those of our children,
And those of the other people around us.
If you have any unwanted feelings,
Would you just let them go down your grounding cord into the earth?
Notice any responsibilities.
These may be motherhood responsibilities,
Something from work,
Or something personal.
Anything that you're ready to let go of,
Would you send it down your grounding cord into the earth?
And as you're letting go,
Would you notice that letting go of this energy doesn't mean that you're a bad person or you're being mean.
It just means that you're making a little bit more space for you.
Next,
Would you notice any thoughts racing through your mind?
Whether it has to do with motherhood,
Something personal,
Career,
Or something else.
You may notice these thoughts located more around your head,
But they may be anywhere in your body,
And you can allow them to just go down your grounding cord.
As mothers,
We have a lot of what-if thoughts.
What if this happens?
What if that happens?
And you can allow these thoughts to go down your grounding cord as well,
And breathe.
If you'd like,
You can keep your grounding cord throughout the rest of your day,
And if you do,
I invite you to notice how you feel with it.
If you're ready to let it go,
Would you imagine this grounding cord being blown up,
De-energizing it,
And making space for when you're ready for a new one?
Breathe.
When you're ready,
Would you tell your body that you're coming out of meditation?
And if you want,
You can start to move,
Stretch,
And wiggle.
And would you slowly open your eyes and fully come out of meditation?
