The ancient wisdom speaks of five states of consciousness, each a layer of understanding and experience, each a layer of understanding and experience. As the scriptures reveal, these states provide a map to the inner self. To elaborate envision these states not as boxes but as rivers flowing into the ocean of awareness. 1. Conscious (Caitanya): This is your everyday waking state, where you perceive the world through your senses. 2. Subconscious (Upacaitanya): The realm of latent impressions and subtle awareness, influencing your thoughts and actions. 3. Unconscious (Anacitanya) : A state where awareness is dimmed, yet still present, like a seed awaiting its time to sprout. 4. Non-Conscious (Acaitanya): A State of apparent inertness, yet holding the potential for future consciousness. Like the stillness before a storm. 5. Superconscious (Paracitanya) : The transcendental state, beyond ordinary perception, where one glimpses the ultimate reality.
