Hello and welcome to a brief meditation in which we will use sound to take a little journey inward to discover how we're really feeling in this moment and to call ourselves back from all of the time,
The places,
The situations that are not here now.
So I invite you now to either remain in a comfortable seat or if you'd like,
You can take this meditation lying down.
Just take a moment to get comfortable in whichever position you choose.
We'll begin by connecting to the breath,
Inhaling through the nose.
Fill up,
Inhale.
Hold for a moment at the top and then big long deep exhalation.
One more time,
Inhaling through the nose,
Fill up.
And exhale,
Side out.
Get all the air out of the lungs.
If you haven't already,
I invite you now to close down the eyes.
Big inhale.
Big exhale.
Relaxing the muscles of the face.
The jaw is soft,
The corners of the eyes are soft.
Relaxing the temples.
Relaxing the tip of the tongue,
The mouth,
The lips.
Bringing your awareness now to the feet and the hands.
Can you just let go now?
Let go and let these points of the body sink into the ground,
Sink into the floor.
Big inhalation.
Big exhalation.
I'd like for you now to imagine yourself laying on the grass of a garden.
Perhaps this is the garden of your grandparents' house while growing up.
Perhaps it's in your own house.
Your friend,
Your parents.
Just visualize this space.
The feeling of the grass on your skin.
The slight breeze cooling your senses.
Now look up at the sky.
Notice the soft pale blue of the sky.
Many clouds slowly drifting by.
Notice their texture,
Notice their shape.
Watch them pass over you.
And as you look up at the sky,
You notice this quality of brilliance.
Everything seems to be infused with a slight sparkle.
You and you.
Big inhalation through the nose.
And exhale.
Now begin to notice surrounding you in this garden,
All of the plants begin to grow.
Even new plants,
New buds,
New sprouts start coming up all around you on the grassy field.
The trees growing a little bit taller.
The bushes growing a little bit wider,
Fuller.
And you notice all of these new sprouts coming up around you.
These new buds forming.
And you feel a sense of excitement,
Of joy.
Everything as it should be.
And these buds,
These bushes all around you begin to bloom.
Beautiful brilliant flowers begin to take shape.
All different colors that you can imagine.
See them in your mind now.
Daffodils,
Lilies,
Roses,
Geraniums.
Any flower you can imagine,
It's blooming now in this garden all around you.
And you're filled with a sense of reverence for life.
A sense of peace from nature.
Big inhalation through the nose.
Exhalation through the mouth,
Staying grounded in the present moment.
Allowing your heart to bloom open just like these flowers.
And feeling a deep sense of gratitude.
For being open and vulnerable.
To all of the beauty of life that surrounds you in every moment.
Both in this garden and everywhere that life takes you.
As you breathe in the fresh scent of the flowers and the plants growing all around you.
As you soak in the rays from the sun.
You feel energized and ready for your day.
Maintaining the sense of blossoming,
Of excitement,
Of joy for just being.
The noticing and understanding and remembering that all stages of growth are beautiful,
Natural,
And necessary.
Taking one final inhale through the nose.
Fill up inhale.
And exhale,
Side all out.
Coming back into your space.
Coming back into the room in which you find yourself.
Begin to wiggle the fingers and the toes and inviting gentle movement back into the body.
Perhaps you place both hands over the heart.
As you take in this feeling of relaxation,
Of sound,
Of journey,
Of blossoming into the day ahead.
I hope you have a beautiful day.
