Welcome back,
My name is Pratika.
Today I'd like to explore together a very simple question.
What is there to fear?
Not as an idea or philosophy.
But as something to quietly discover for ourselves.
Fear is one of the oldest experiences of the human condition.
Sometimes it appears as anxiety,
Sometimes as worry.
Sometimes as uncertainty about tomorrow.
And often it seems completely justified.
The mind says,
What if this happens?
What if I lose someone dear to me?
What if I fail?
What if things don't go the way I hoped?
The body responds.
The heart beats faster.
The breath becomes shallower.
Attention narrows.
And suddenly,
An imagined future feels more real than the present moment.
But perhaps before following another fearful thought,
We can simply pause.
Take a long,
Slow,
Gentle breath.
Feel the body supported by the chair.
Or the earth beneath you.
Nothing needs to change,
Nothing needs to be solved.
Simply notice what is here right now.
Not five minutes from now,
Not tomorrow,
Not next year.
Just this moment,
Look carefully.
Is there fear or is there a thought of fear about what might happen?
There is an important difference.
Thought can imagine countless futures.
Awareness remains here.
Notice how the mind moves through possibilities,
Creating stories,
Preparing,
Protecting.
Trying to ensure that life unfolds according to its own expectations.
That is not wrong.
It is simply what the conditioned mind wants.
Has learnt to do.
It believes that constant preparation will create safety.
Yet life has always remained unpredictable.
No amount of thinking is ever guaranteed what tomorrow will bring.
Perhaps real peace does not come from controlling life.
Perhaps it comes from discovering.
That what we truly are is always present.
Before every thought.
Before every fear.
Before every story about the future.
So for a few moments simply rest as this open awareness.
Thoughts may come,
Let them come.
Feelings may arise,
Allow them.
Nothing needs to be pushed away,
Nothing needs to be held on to.
Like clouds moving across a vast sky.
Everything appears,
Then disappears.
But the sky itself remains untouched.
Perhaps awareness is like that,
Open,
Silent.
Unharmed.
Notice that awareness itself is not afraid.
Fear may arise within it,
But awareness does not resist or cling.
He simply knows.
And in this simple knowing there is space.
Space around every thought.
Space around every emotion.
Space enough for fear to soften without being forged.
So once again,
Gently ask.
What is there to fear in this moment?
Not tomorrow.
Not in imagination,
But now.
Simple as that.
Rest here for a little while.
Allow everything to be exactly as it should be as it is.
And perhaps you may discover that beneath all movement.
Beneath every sword.
Beneath every passing emotion.
There is a quiet presence that has always been here.
Unchanging whole.
Calm and at peace.
Thank you for sharing this time.
May this quiet seeing remain with you throughout your life.
Blessings to you.
