Hello again and welcome.
This meditation is called Morning Stillness,
Nothing to Carry.
Begin your day gently and quietly.
Nothing needs to be resolved right now.
Rest in stillness before the day unfolds.
Hello and welcome to this new day.
In the morning stillness before the day begins to unfold,
Let us take a few moments together.
To arrive here,
To be still,
To breathe.
And gently return to an awareness of the body.
In this quiet moment,
Allow the body to settle in its own way.
Gently bring your awareness to the body where it is seated.
Notice the points of contact,
The support beneath you,
And allow yourself to fully feel that support.
The body being supported with nothing required of it.
Nothing to prepare for.
Nothing to resolve.
Just quietly resting here.
Perhaps you can sense within a little more ease,
A stillness,
A quiet comfort,
In simply being here safe and supported.
There is nowhere else to be.
And now gently bring your attention to the breath.
Feel the breath entering and leaving.
Allowing it to move gently,
Without needing to change anything.
Let the breath find its own rhythm.
Easy.
Natural.
Unforced.
You're not being asked to control it.
Breathing is happening effortlessly,
Just as it is.
And as you sit here quietly,
You may notice thoughts appearing and passing,
Each in its own time.
Like clouds moving across an open sky.
And as they pass,
There is a spaciousness,
A vastness.
That remains.
And through these changing thoughts there is a simple timeless knowing.
An awareness in which clouds appear and through which their passing is recognized.
This awareness is not apart from the life being felt here,
The breath,
The body,
The quiet presence of this moment.
Perhaps there is a sense of freedom,
A quiet knowing,
In this simple felt presence.
Nothing you need to create.
Nothing you need to hold on to.
Simply there.
For these few moments,
There is nothing you need to carry forward.
Whatever yesterday held,
Whatever remains unfinished.
It can remain at rest for now.
The day will unfold naturally,
With its own movements,
Its own experiences,
Its own demands.
But right now,
You are here.
Quietly aware.
So simply rest in the feeling of the body,
In the natural movement of the breath.
And in acquired awareness,
Already present.
And as the meditation begins to come to a close.
Quietly become aware once again of the body sitting here.
The space around you.
The quietness of this morning.
Allow this sense of ease,
This quiet support to accompany you as the day begins to unfold.
Nothing to force,
Nothing to rush.
Simply meeting whatever comes effortlessly,
One moment at a time.
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes,
Take a deep breath,
And welcome this new day.
