Hi,
This is an accepting and letting go meditation for those experiencing any big transitions or changes in their lives right now.
There are so many big things in life that can knock us off balance,
Maybe grief,
Maybe retirement,
Maybe moving home,
Divorce,
Children leaving home,
Illness.
So this is designed to help you be aware and bring more acknowledgement and awareness of any challenge that you're confronted with at the moment.
And before I start the practice,
When I say letting go,
We're not talking about forgetting,
We're allowing a softness to weave its magic so that whatever the change is and however it's affecting you,
It can loosen its grip on you so something new can emerge.
And acceptance also doesn't mean approval.
It doesn't mean that nothing has to change.
It means that we're choosing to fight with what already is so your energy can become fluent and return to you so you can navigate whatever is going on for you with more clarity,
More dignity and grace.
You don't have to have it all figured out.
You just can breathe here and allow space for change.
So let's begin settling into a quiet spot.
You can be seated or lying.
This is such a compassionate,
Self-compassion meditation that you want to be really comfortable and you may want to take a deep breath in and out as you begin to notice and sink into the support beneath you that's holding you.
Noticing all those points of contact where your body meets the support beneath you.
And you may want to begin to extend your breath in both directions,
Connecting to it and giving it an opportunity to slow down.
And please don't worry if this is not available to you right now.
It's an invitation rather than an instruction.
And as you breathe you may notice some softer,
Gentle sensations beginning to release your shoulders and move through the body.
With every out breath you're letting go a little bit more or you're inviting yourself to let go a little more.
And as you breathe there is a level of acceptance that this is where I am and that that's okay.
This is where I am and this is okay.
And you may want to say these words on the rhythm of the breath.
So you're not focusing on the words.
What you're focusing on is the vibration of the words.
This is where I am and this is okay.
And with real tenderness and care acknowledge the transition that you are going through.
Naming it gently.
Maybe acknowledging that this is ending or I am leaving or this is changing.
It could be more than this.
It could be I'm stepping into or this is a new beginning.
Remember there's no way to get this wrong.
You're simply bringing your mind's eye to what it is that's going on for you with no judgement or shame.
Simply naming it and knowing that there is no pressure to solve anything.
There's a magic in simply noticing and giving it space to be here.
And imagine your hand is holding on to what was before the change.
And little by little as you breathe your hand slowly and easily and softly begins to release.
Opening out into an open palm where you're available to feel into the sensations of what newness is beginning inside of you.
The new seeds of exploration.
And you're letting go of what you can no longer hold.
And you're doing this knowing that you are enough.
You've always been enough.
And as we come to the end of this meditation today be really self-compassionate with one hand over your heart and one hand over your belly.
Remember to give yourself credit.
Breathe in I am learning and breathe out I am allowed to change.
And coming out of the meditation now feeling all those points of contact again with the support beneath you.
Feeling that stability.
And when you're ready open your eyes giving yourself a small nod of gratitude for your quiet courage to accept and let go and step into something new.
Namaste.
Have a good day.
Bye for now.
