Chronic pain can be very hard to handle, and sometimes when we create a mental image of our suffering, we may aggravate this pain, thus increasing it. In this meditation, we'll settle comfortably into the body before opening up to the sensation of pain. After exploring the qualities of these sensations, we'll then shift our focus to a place that brings you comfort and resource and explore the sensations that accompany that visual. By creating space for the sensation of pain and its opposite, we may slowly begin to change the sensations that are associated with pain. This track is supported by music from Fred Westra.
