A real lasting change begins in the subconscious where all past programs and barriers are stored. By gently reprogramming the subconscious and laying the foundation for change, we can begin to get into the flow in the outer awake life more easily when we clean the slate within. Getting into the most comfortable position now and let's begin by taking a deep breath in and exhale allow your eyes to close down and with your eyes closed now begin to reconstruct in your imagination the last thing you saw before you closed your eyes down begin with the wall that was before you visualize that wall now giving special attention to colors,
Texture,
Objects on the wall and objects in front of the wall now in your imagination begin to reconstruct the wall behind you and again give special attention to colors,
Texture,
Objects on the wall and objects in front of the wall and now the side walls again with special attention to colors,
Texture,
Objects and now in your imagination connect these four walls together giving special attention to the corners where the walls meet now add to this image the ceiling and the floor again giving special attention to colors,
Texture,
And objects and now feel free to completely reconstruct the room in your imagination by adding any other objects to the room tune into sounds within the room and attach images to these sounds within your mind now allow your imagination to move outside this room out into the surrounding areas and out onto the street become aware of any sounds and in your imagination create images to define those sounds now allow your imagination to move out out to beyond the local area out throughout the city you may in your imagination hear the sounds of the city and develop images of people going here and there perhaps driving cars around or even pick up the scents of the city the colors,
The textures you're doing great now allow your imagination to move out beyond the city all the way to the beach or out beyond the hills to the desert and the mountains and beyond across the continent allow your imagination to move out beyond the entire country and the continent now over the seas to some far away place a special place it can be anywhere you like or perhaps even a place in your imagination and now visualize this place becoming aware of not only sights but also sounds and even scents and sensibilities and I'm going to give you a few moments to enjoy and absorb the pleasant qualities of being in this special place and perhaps there may be some gift or treasure that you desire to retrieve from this place and now in your mind begin to return again from this distant place back across the waters to these shores back across the land and mountains to this area back into the building and back into the room allow your awareness to move into your right foot as though all perceptions were being experienced through that right foot seeing,
Hearing,
Tasting,
Smelling and knowing through that right foot allow your awareness now to move into your left hand all perception through that left hand seeing,
Hearing,
Tasting,
Smelling and knowing through that left hand and from the left hand into the right hand and again all seeing,
Hearing,
Tasting,
Smelling and knowing through the right hand and now allow that awareness to move into your left foot again all perception through that left foot very well and now become aware of the air entering your lungs and imagine that you are one molecule of oxygen entering the lungs and there intermingling with the blood to be pumped through the heart and out through the blood vessels to some tissues and cells imagine being exchanged there for a molecule of carbon dioxide to be carried back through the blood to the lungs and expelled with the next exhalation now allow your awareness to return to the sensory organs of the head the ears for hearing,
The nose for smelling,
The mouth for tasting and the eyes for seeing and while you continue relaxing in this fashion I'm going to talk to your subconscious mind for a little while you don't have to listen to anything that I'm saying just continue relaxing and letting go and I know you have a conscious memory of what you have experienced and learned but your unconscious mind has a much more complete record of everything that you've ever learned or experienced of any significance since you were born and way before that I want to ask your unconscious mind to review all of that material and it can do that much more quickly and completely than you could do it consciously review all of your learning and experiences scan all of them and select only positive experiences and feelings review them and strengthen them and begin to make them available to you as your inner strength to cope with whatever you need to cope with now and although you won't be aware of most of this consciously it will be going on beneath the surface just as your unconscious mind works on problems and continues to operate beneath your awareness most of the time perhaps you will be more aware of some of this a small sample of it resurfacing into your conscious awareness perhaps an experience,
A positive experience that gives you a good feeling it may be one that happened last week,
Last month,
Last year or many,
Many years ago but the thought of it makes you feel good about yourself then perhaps occasionally a good feeling will surface just a positive feeling a feeling perhaps of being secure,
Confident,
Happy or perhaps this feeling may be unattached to any particular experience just a good feeling and you can enjoy it again a feeling of inner strength you will begin to feel much better about yourself and you will have the inner strength it requires to pursue some positive strategies that we have talked about and where some of these may have been threatening before now they will represent a challenge to you and you will feel positive about taking a bit of a risk in meeting this challenge and feeling good about it and now change is something that exists throughout the universe and it is particularly characteristic of biological life you may or may not know that every seven years almost all of the molecules that make up your body are cycled through so that every seven years you are actually a completely new person there are certain patterns that remain and that is why you are still recognizable to yourself and others psychological change usually begins below awareness from what might be described as a seed of change a potentiality for change a seed can be planted in our early or late childhood or perhaps even today or it can be inherited as part of the genetic wisdom of our ancestors up until recently developmental psychologists have paid attention mostly to childhood and adolescence but it is now documented and recognized that adults go through developmental stages as well throughout their entire lives the only constant in life is change and there is a remarkable consistency across people as to what the developmental stages are and the order in which they appear although each individual manifests the developmental issue differently this remarkable consistency in terms of adult development suggests that these particular changes come about as a result of a potentiality that is inherited a seed that we inherit from our parents and even early ancestors and when the conditions and the timing are correct these seeds can develop and germinate below our awareness in our unconscious mind and when that happens we may have a sense that something is going on below the surface in the days,
Weeks and months that follow you may have a strange feeling a sensation,
An experience if that should happen you can take pleasure in knowing that your unconscious mind is working for you that there is a necessary and useful change developing and after that change is completed and has become part of your mental processes that change will emerge into consciousness in the form of a new feeling or a changed behavior and you can understand,
Yes,
That's what's been going on all along understanding more and more that it is your ease and comfort that are important and in order to get more comfortable you will shift your position when you would like it is important to recognize that when you go through life you will arrive in a certain situation and you will find the most comfortable position for yourself the most comfortable point of view the most comfortable understanding and then you will feel good for a period of time but at some point the situation will change a little bit or you will change yourself and it will require an adjustment to remain comfortable there is no one position,
No point of view there is no one understanding that will allow comfort forever and so what is necessary to maintain your comfort as you proceed through your life is the ability to adjust your position from time to time to see things a little bit differently or to hear things in a way that is useful and to notice that your feelings can evolve and that even though the same situation may present itself the feelings that you have in response will be evolutionary and tonight and in the days to come you will fall asleep quickly and deeply you will remain asleep through the night and in the venting dream stage at night you will vent out all the negatives and reasons for resisting change and transformation in the morning when you wake up you will remember your dreams you will be able to understand what they are trying to communicate to you you will feel refreshed,
Deeply rested,
Rejuvenated ready to embrace your day with ease and flow and as I'm going to count from 1 to 5 at the count of 5 you may open your eyes and you will be completely out of the hypnotic state so now at 1 coming back to the physical body,
Completely present 2,
Start wiggling your toes and your fingers 3,
With a wonderful sense of well-being and lightness within 4,
