Hi,
I'm Dr.
Kim.
Welcome to this somatic shaking practice.
Come to a standing position,
Feet hip-width apart.
Let your knees soften,
Your weight dropping into the ground.
Feel the floor beneath your feet.
Let the soles broaden.
Imagine the weight of your body melting straight down through your heels into the earth.
Your knees are softly bent,
Your pelvis relaxed,
Your jaw unclenched.
Let your arms hang.
Feel the simple heaviness of being here.
Now start a gentle bounce through your legs.
Bouncing through the knees,
Feet remain flat on the floor.
Let the rest of your body respond naturally,
Effortlessly.
Allow the ripple of movement to go upwards through the spine,
Through the shoulders.
Relax your neck and head.
Let your jaw hang.
Let your arms be heavy.
You don't have to try,
Just let the body do what it knows.
Let every single joint in your body relax and loosen.
Now let this bounce evolve into a bigger shake,
Legs loose,
Pelvis loose,
Chest soft,
Arms hanging and swinging.
Feel free to move your shoulders,
To shift your weight back and forth between the left and the right foot.
No right or wrong here.
On your exhales,
Allow your breath to sigh out.
Allow your body to let go of what it doesn't need.
Let the shaking move through you.
Notice how it feels so good.
Now come back to your center,
Feet hip-width apart,
Raise both hands up into the air.
Imagine you're holding a pillow.
And now swing your arms downwards,
Throwing that pillow onto the ground in front of you,
Letting your arms swing backwards and your knees bend.
And again,
Straighten up,
Arms up,
Deep inhale.
And as you exhale,
Bend your knees and throw the pillow onto the ground,
Letting your arms swing backwards.
Continue with this movement as fast as you wish.
Inhale,
Arms up.
Exhale,
Arms come down,
Throwing the pillow.
Let the arms swing freely.
Feel the therapeutic benefits of this movement.
Throwing out the old and stagnant.
Make your exhales more powerful.
Get rid of any anger or frustration that lives in your body.
And come back to your center.
Straighten your spine,
Ground your feet into the floor.
Take a few deep breaths here,
Calming your body,
Ready for some sweeping movements.
Bring both of your palms to the top of your head.
Using firm pressure,
Sweep your hands down the sides of your skull,
The sides of your neck,
The front of your chest,
Down your belly.
And bring the hands down the backs of the legs,
Through the hamstrings,
Calves.
And now bring them up through the inner cuff.
The inner thighs,
Coming back up to your abdomen.
And again,
Palms to your skull.
Sweep downwards,
Running through the chest,
Belly,
Backs of the legs.
Up the inner legs,
Coming back to your abdomen.
Continue this slow,
Sweeping movement,
Running your hands over your body,
Grounding your center down to your feet.
Each sweep,
Releasing another layer.
Moving the stagnant energy downwards,
Letting anything heavy slide off you.
And come back to your upright center.
Place your right palm on top of your left shoulder.
Using firm pressure,
Sweep downwards and flick the energy off the ends of your left fingertips.
Repeat,
Continuing to sweep down your left arm,
Flicking off the stagnant energy at the fingertips.
Deep breaths here.
And now left palm on the right shoulder,
Sweeping and flicking off the end of your right arm.
Clear away the old energy.
Sweeping and flicking.
Last one.
Now both palms on top of your chest.
Run them down your torso,
Flicking off to the ground at your lower belly.
Sweeping and flicking down into the earth.
Feel the comforting touch of your own hands.
Deep breaths.
Flick and release.
Finally,
Bend your elbows,
Bringing your hands in front of you.
And start to flick your fingers and wrists outwards,
Like you're shaking water off your hands.
Flick to the front.
Flick to the sides.
Flick down towards the ground.
Wrists nice and loose.
Let your body exhale as your hands flick.
Anything that is ready to leave can simply go.
Let your arms rest by your sides again.
Feel your breath run through your nose,
Down your spine,
Over your head.
All the way into your feet.
Feel the spaciousness inside your body.
In today's practice,
We have released old stagnant energy.
And now you are ready to receive the new.
One last slow breath in.
And exhale all the way out through your mouth.
Stay here and enjoy this feeling for as long as you need.
Thank you for practicing with me.
