Hello friends,

It's Lauren with Yogi Beans.

I want you to make sure that you're nice and cozy in your bed.

Get all your stuffed animals,

Blankets and pillows just the way you want them and really snuggle in before we start our story.

Take your hands on your belly and let's begin by just taking a nice deep belly breath together.

Those belly breaths can really help us feel nice and calm and peaceful.

Tonight our story is about our fairy friend named Jujubelle and her fairy friends that live in Fairyville.

We begin with all being well in Fairyville.

It was the start of springtime and the fairies were flying through rainbows and sprinkling their fairy magic everywhere.

Fairyville Village was bustling with fairies looking to pick up the latest potion or newest wand and fairy flowers were just starting to bloom.

However,

Everything changed one day when a mysterious blue fog appeared in the air.

The blue fog made it so the fairies could no longer fly and it made all fairy magic disappear.

Fairies could no longer ride their unicorns throughout Fairyville Village or gather together to have a fairy picnic with the ladybugs in Fairyville Park.

Until the blue fog disappeared and the air was clear again,

The mayor of Fairyville told all the families not to fly and to stay in their cottages away from one another.

Even though Jujubelle knew the blue fog was unsafe,

She missed her friends and she missed sprinkling her magic all around.

Staying in her small cottage garden without her magic and friends seemed boring and Jujubelle felt sad and frustrated.

She was,

However,

Thankful she had her orange striped kitty cat,

Mymy,

To keep her company.

The next morning,

Jujubelle woke up and she forgot all about the blue fog.

She went to grab her wand to whip up her favorite chocolate chip banana pancakes when she remembered that she was magic-less.

Oh no!

She thought,

What will I eat for breakfast?

She thought and thought and she decided to check her garden to see if there were any fruits or vegetables ready to be picked.

Now,

Usually when Jujubelle gardens,

She waves her wand and the fruits and vegetables effortlessly float into her basket.

However,

Today was different.

Jujubelle had to pick the vegetables herself.

This was a new experience for her.

She got down on her little hands and knees and looked in the dirt to see if there was anything to eat.

She noticed a few carrots had sprouted.

Since Jujubelle loves carrot cake,

She got very excited about this.

She went to pull one of the carrots out of the earth and it wouldn't budge.

Its roots were so deep in the ground.

She pulled and pulled and pulled until finally she was able to unearth one of the carrots.

She did this until she had enough orange carrots to make her carriage cake.

Jujubelle never realized how strong carrots are.

She thought about how much time it must have taken for the carrots to grow.

She also felt proud of her effort that she made to pick the carrots.

She was excited to get into her kitchen and make some carrot cake from scratch.

The days of the blue fog moved slowly and without magic,

Every day felt strangely similar.

Jujubelle would wake up,

Cuddle with Mai Mai and then check the garden to make breakfast.

She would watch her favorite movies and read books and play made-up games.

She thought about the other fairies and wondered what they were doing.

She especially thought about Vivi Rose and the elder fairies.

When Mr.

Mares spoke,

He said the blue fog is most dangerous for our elder fairies and that we all must work together as a fairy family to keep each other safe.

The next morning,

Jujubelle went out into her yard and decided she would bake Vivi Rose a nice apple pie with the apples from her apple tree.

Normally,

Picking apples was simple,

As Jujubelle would wave her wand and the apples would effortlessly fall from the tree for her to gather.

Without her magic,

Jujubelle had to climb the tree to pick the apples.

This was something that was new for her.

However,

Once Jujubelle learned to climb trees,

She never wanted to stop.

She picked enough apples for a pie and got right to work.

She made a beautiful care basket with some vegetables,

Honey and jams and a warm apple pie that she would leave for Vivi Rose.

As she could no longer fly or ride her unicorn to Vivi Rose's house,

She had to take the path and walk there.

Now,

While flying is always fun,

It does cause one to move quite fast.

The slower mode of walking made Jujubelle very aware of her surroundings.

She observed many things on her walk that she never took the time to see before.

She noticed how flowers started out as little tiny buds and how vines twisted in beautiful shapes around the trees.

As most fairies were in their cottages,

The streets and skies were empty.

Jujubelle heard the birds singing their springtime songs and the rustle the bunnies made when they were hopping through the grass.

Juju finally arrived at the elder village.

She found Vivi Rose's cottage and left the basket on her doorstep with a note that said to please let her know if there is anything she needs and reminded her that she was here to help during this time of the blue fog.

Days passed and then weeks.

Mr.

Mayor said the blue fog was slowly starting to fade and to have hope that one day soon all our magic would return and Fairyville would be back to the way it was.

During these long days,

Jujubelle spent a lot of time outside in her garden.

She loved to climb her apple tree and find the perfect branch to lie on.

She would look up at the clouds in the sky.

One of her favorite games was to find animals and shapes in the clouds.

One time she found a cloud that looked like a sheep and another that looked like an elephant.

Juju could spend an entire afternoon finding shapes and animals in the sky.

She also loved to lie in her tree and look up at the stars at night.

She would see how many stars she could count until she fell into a deep,

Dreamy sleep.

While the days were without magic,

There was something Jujubelle appreciated about the simplicity of it all.

Although Jujubelle loved her magic and missed her fairy friends,

She did not miss the pressure amongst fairies to prove your spell was the most magical or compare whose wand was most powerful.

Without that pressure,

There was an ease and comfort to the days.

A few more weeks went by and the blue fog was slowly lifting.

Mr.

Mayor said it was now safe for fairies to come out of their village,

However there was still no flying and magic had not returned.

Jujubelle and Mai-Mai took a walk into the village square.

It was a wonderful day.

Everyone was so happy to see one another.

All the fairies hugged and they told each other about their time apart.

Some fairies learned new hobbies,

While others watched lots of movies and read books.

And the fairies that were parents to little fairies seemed the most happy that fairy school was back in session.

Eventually,

The blue fog disappeared completely.

Magic was back in the air and rainbows filled the sky.

There were quite a few fairy people who were eager to get back to the way things were.

However,

Jujubelle and quite a lot of other fairies had a newfound appreciation for the simple things in life.

Even when magic returned,

Jujubelle still chose to climb her apple tree to gather apples.

And at least once a day she made time to look up at the clouds and gaze at the stars in the sky.

Instead of flying everywhere,

She would sometimes choose to take the slow path and walk.

She learned that slowing down can help us to appreciate the little things in life we may otherwise take for granted.

Sweet dreams,

My friends.

May fairies,

Unicorns,

And rainbows visit you tonight.
