This is Lauren with Yogi Beans.
Tonight's meditation is called a smile meditation.
Before we get started,
Make sure you're nice and cozy in your bed.
Get your favorite stuffed animal close by and organize your pillows just the way you like them.
So let's begin by taking a few deep breaths to settle ourselves.
As we breathe,
I want you to think of a word that makes your heart smile.
That word for me is love.
However,
You can choose any word you want.
Peace,
Kindness,
Ice cream,
Rainbows.
Any word that makes you feel good and makes your heart smile.
Keep that word in your mind as we breathe.
Inhale and exhale.
Remember,
As you inhale,
Think about your word.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Now our bodies should feel nice and relaxed.
I'd like you to try closing your eyes.
With your eyes closed,
I'd like you to think about how your eyes feel when you smile.
Can you feel a little sparkle behind your eyes when you just think about smiling?
What about your cheeks?
How do your cheeks feel when you smile?
Do you feel a lightness in your face when you just think about smiling?
Now I want you to imagine a smile in your heart.
Perhaps you want to think about the word you used earlier,
Or maybe you want to think about a person or place that makes your heart smile.
Feel the smile in your heart light up your entire body.
Next,
I want you to wiggle your toes and think about your toes laughing and smiling.
Does it feel good to have happy toes?
Remember,
When we think happy thoughts,
We feel happy.
As we get ready for bed,
I'd like you to fill your body,
Mind and heart with thoughts that make you think,
Feel and be happy.
I'd like you to think in your head what I'm going to say.
I am very smart.
I am very kind.
I am very strong.
Know that you are all of those things and keep a smile in your heart as you drift off to sleep.
