Welcome to your 15 minute meditation on protecting energy centered on the goddess Durga.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position to take your meditation in,
Remembering that there is never a set way that you need to be positioned.
You could of course sit up but you could lie down,
You could do this in bed,
You can do this at work,
Wherever you happen to be,
Wherever you can fit this into your schedule.
Allow a couple of moments to settle into whatever position you've chosen,
Feeling how the weight of your body is positioned,
Any support you may feel.
Become aware of your breath.
Try to slow it down without straining it.
As you become more in touch with your body on a deeper level,
You may begin to acknowledge how you feel energetically,
Whether your energy feels scattered,
Spread out,
Stifled,
Settled.
As you inhale,
Imagine drawing this energy from inside your body up to the surface,
Maybe you think of it coming towards your mouth or your nostrils or maybe to the outermost layer of your skin.
As you exhale,
Imagine this energy circling around you,
Creating almost like a little orb that you are encompassed within.
Each inhale gathering that energy from your own body and as you exhale,
Using it to create this little shield around you,
Moving at your own pace with your breath,
Inhale,
Drawing the energy up.
And as you exhale,
Imagine it filling this little orb around you.
And continue to breathe just like this.
As you exhale,
Imagine it filling this little orb around you.
And this circle around you is not this impenetrable layer.
It is this little barrier that you decide what passes through,
What's allowed into your space,
What's allowed access to your energy,
What's allowed access to your heart.
And just as you decide what gets in,
You decide what leaves.
How much energy you're spending on certain people or situations.
What you need to step away from.
As you continue to breathe this orb around you,
Notice how big it is.
Notice its shape.
Is it perfectly circular?
Is it oval?
Is it some other shape?
Is it thick or hazy?
Does it have a color to it?
Well,
Pretty should Look And maybe now it becomes a little more clear.
What your energy needs protecting from certain people or situations.
Maybe it's situations that you put yourself in where you spend too much energy,
You kind of get sucked into a wormhole of something that isn't important to you or doesn't make you feel good,
Isn't necessary,
Isn't as urgent as you make it seem.
Or maybe it's situations that the world puts you in,
The people around you put you in.
Can you take a step back from that?
Can you say no?
Can you set boundaries?
What do you need Durga to help protect you from?
Is it predominantly from yourself or from others right now knowing that this changes throughout our lives?
You may choose to repeat among yourselves.
Hope this nine rounds,
And then settle back into what you want protection from and how it would feel to receive that protection.
Three.
Try to envision yourself protected.
What does that look like?
What is your body language?
Is there anyone around?
Where are you?
Could you feel protected outdoors in nature or is it only inside?
As we release this visualization and close our meditation,
Is there any one action you can think of taking that would help protect and preserve your energy?
Is it something you can implement today?
Like maybe when you notice something making you feel really bad,
Can you stop doing it?
Can you walk away?
Can you take a pause?
Can you set a boundary?
Can you release negative energy that you've absorbed in some way?
You may choose to meditate further on this thought.
You could write a little note down in your phone as a reminder,
A little sticky note somewhere to help you this week with this process of protection,
Remembering that Durga is there with you.
If you're closing out your practice right here,
You may enjoy taking a big breath in,
Sighing it out.
I will see you for our next practice.
