Namaste.
We are going to do a meditation while enjoying a delicious cup of tea.
I invite you to pause this meditation and go make yourself a cup of tea,
The tea of your choice.
Once you have your cup of hot tea ready,
We continue.
Very good.
Place your cup in front of you and set it down.
Sit in a comfortable way with your back straight.
And rest your gaze on the teacup.
Take a deep breath in and out,
Relaxing your eyebrows,
Your eyelids,
Your cheeks,
Your jaw.
Inhale softly and deeply one more time.
Exhale,
Relaxing your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your arms and your hands.
Continue breathing slowly,
Deeply.
Notice the steam coming out of the teacup and evaporating into the air.
As you inhale,
Your whole body calms down.
As you exhale,
Enjoy this moment of stillness and peace.
Now take the cup of tea in your hands and bring it close to your chest.
Close your eyes.
Consciously connect with the warmth of the cup being transferred to your skin.
Feel your hands getting warmer and warmer.
Inhale,
Here and now,
All is well.
Breathe out,
Give thanks for this moment of calm and stillness.
Now bring the cup of tea close to your face.
Feel the delicious aroma of the tea coming through your nose.
Feel the warmth of the tea close to your face,
To your lips.
I invite you to take a small sip of tea.
Savour it for a few moments before swallowing it.
Feel the flavour on your tongue,
Feel the warmth all over your mouth.
And as you swallow,
Feel the tea passing down your throat.
Enjoy every moment,
Every sensation.
Take another sip.
The water in this tea was once a cloud that fell in the form of rain and came down,
Perhaps,
Mountains.
This water at one time was also a river or a stream.
And now it is here in your cup transformed into a delicious tea.
The rainwater from the clouds also made the tea plant grow.
Take another sip of tea with the awareness that the cloud,
The rain,
The river are part of this cup of tea.
This tea and this moment are a beautiful gift from the universe,
From the earth.
And as Thich Nhat Hanh said,
You know that you are drinking a cloud,
You are drinking the rain.
The tea contains the whole universe.
Continue breathing in a serene way,
Sipping your tea little by little,
Feeling connected with the universe and with nature through your tea.
Feeling gratitude for this moment.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
And for taking a few minutes to take care of your body,
Mind and spirit.
I hope that we meditate together again very soon.
Namaste.
