Let's put our body somewhere comfortable and take a few deeper breaths.

Long smooth breaths.

Bringing our attention inwards.

Can you notice even a little change from those first couple of breaths?

Allowing your spine to be a little taller.

And balancing that with also being comfortable and somewhere your body can rest for a few minutes.

See if we can find that balance between alert and comfortable.

Still breathing slowly and deeply.

Let's bring our attention to our body as it sits here.

Not thinking about but feeling our body.

If your mind wanders that's completely fine as soon as you notice just return to your quietly breathing body.

Let's see if we can get a sense of the energy in our body.

So I'm going to invite you to turn your palms up.

Just resting on your lap.

Put your attention into your hands.

Feeling what your hands feel like.

Your fingertips.

Your palms.

Full of nerve endings and very sensitive.

Is there a sense of your life force?

See some buzzing,

Sense of energy activity.

And whatever we sense,

Can we be okay with that as our experience?

Please return your hands to whatever position you find comfortable.

Returning our attention to our whole body.

In the yoga tradition there's an energy field surrounding our body.

Like our body sits in a huge egg,

An envelope of energy.

It swirls with complex patterns that relate to our energy state,

Our moods,

Our strengths,

Our mental processes.

Can we get a sense of that,

Either with our imagination or our body?

Feeling in this swirling cloud of energy.

We can influence these energies with our intention.

So if we bring our attention now to our sit bones,

The base of our spine.

This is the location of our root chakra.

If it helps we can visualize this as a red color.

Let's see if we can let our breath flow over or through this area of the body.

Maybe we can imagine that red color becoming a little brighter as we focus on it,

More brilliant.

In the yoga tradition this root chakra connects us to the earth.

It is how we ground to the safety and stability of the earth.

It represents our reason for being on earth.

Our security,

Our physical strength and our health.

Still breathing long and smooth,

Can we allow that red light to become a little bit brighter as we enhance our feelings of safety,

Strength and security,

Stability.

Rising up our spinal column will bring our attention to our sacrum.

So that's the space halfway between the base of our spine and our navel.

We can imagine that in the center of our lower abdomen as an orange color.

And as we put our attention there and allow our breath to energize this space,

Can we allow that orange light to become a little bit brighter?

The sacrum is our creative seat.

Our emotional location where we find sensuality,

Pleasure and our enjoyment in life.

Feeling mindfully what reaction we have when we consider those qualities.

And allowing them to become a little bit more brilliant,

More vibrant with our attention and our intention.

Our flexibility,

Our adaptability.

And breathing as we consider those qualities in our life.

Bringing our attention to rise up the spinal column a little further to our solar plexus,

Our sternum.

If it helps we can visualize this as a yellow light.

We can allow our long smooth relaxed breath to energize this part of our system.

Here is our power center,

Our energy generation box,

Our self-esteem,

Our confidence.

Mindfully recognizing how we judge ourselves in these qualities.

Not for the purpose of criticism but to see if we would choose to improve to become our best self.

Our determination lies here,

Our self-assurance and our self-discipline.

Using the breath to energize this yellow light becoming more and more brilliant.

Allowing our attention to rise up a little further into our heart area.

We can visualize this as a green or pink light or a little of both.

The energy centers beneath the heart are very much focused in the physical body.

And the energy centers above the heart are focused on the non-physical,

The spiritual,

The unseen and the heart in some sense connects them.

It's where they meet.

It's our place of integration and connection.

Our center of love,

Kindness,

Freedom and compassion.

And we enhance those qualities with our gentle breath,

Our visualization of it glowing a little more brightly.

Many of us have closed down this energy center because of the suffering in the world.

But while that energy center is closed we cut ourselves off from the unseen,

From our spiritual power.

And so if it is our choice we can choose to open it again.

And connect with our birthright.

Allowing that light to become a little brighter and filling our whole energy field with this loving pink and green light.

Allowing our attention to rise up a little further into our throat area.

This can be a beautiful blue colour like midday at the top of the sky.

And can we allow it to glow a little brighter.

In our throat we connect with our communication powers,

Our ability to express ourselves,

Our truthfulness,

Our connection to our own truth and our ability to share it.

Exhaling that glowing brighter as we breathe.

Rising up a little further to our eyebrow center or the center of our skull.

And the brow chakra.

A beautiful indigo deep purple.

And gently encouraging,

Allowing it to become brighter.

And a breath almost caressing this part of our body.

Gently energising,

Seeing that light grow brighter.

And we connect with our intelligence,

Our perception,

Our intuition,

Our clear vision and perspective.

And allowing that to glow a little more brightly.

Taking our attention to the top of our head,

The crown of our head.

Can we visualise a circle of light around the top of our head?

And the Yoga tradition visualises this as the thousand petal lotus.

You can imagine those petals opening any way that works for you.

Brilliant white light,

Maybe sparkly white light.

And the petals are opening to connect us with the universe,

Our antenna to the divine.

Our connection to the subtle realms,

The unseen.

The connection between the unseen and the material world.

Let's return our attention to the whole of the body.

Seeing if we can feel our energy.

Now we've gone through this process of energising ourselves.

We can turn our palms upper most once more.

Can we sense a change in the energy in our palms?

Being mindful of whatever we find and our reaction of whatever we find.

Breathing for one last moment with our breath and our body and our energy.

And if you feel it appropriate you can close those energy fields again,

Just with your intention or you can leave them open.

It's completely up to you,

Whatever you feel right.

You're in no danger.

Taking a few energising breaths and slowly bringing movement into our body.

Our hands and feet,

Wrists and ankles,

Arms and legs,

Having a little stretch.

And when you are ready,

Slowly coming back to our waking state,

Opening your eyes.

Thank you for practicing with me.
