I'm Yan Chan.
Welcome to this meditation practice.
Today we will focus on togetherness and living in this world as a community.
Find a comfortable seated position and take a few deep breaths,
Allowing yourself to arrive fully in this present moment.
As we begin,
Let's remember that togetherness is a practice.
Every day we have a unique opportunity to be connected with people from many different backgrounds.
Sometimes we live closely,
Sometimes we are connected through different means,
Such as internet,
Social media,
Culture,
And also sharing our knowledge,
Ideas,
And energies.
No matter the distance,
We are connected.
And as meditators,
Together we form our community,
Connected by the practice of mindfulness.
With our collective energy of coming and looking deeply,
It is possible for us to support each other on the path of transformation.
This requires cooperation,
Skillfulness,
And acceptance.
To live amongst each other,
We need to cultivate understanding,
Communication,
And a willing heart.
Let's take a moment to reflect on the people around us.
By being together,
We can encourage each other with our practice and build diligence and solidity.
Sharing a space with others is an opportunity to develop understanding and compassion for ourselves and for those we live with.
By being mindful of the people we share a space with,
We can identify and appreciate their positive qualities,
Creating an atmosphere of harmony.
We know that when the other person is happy,
We are also happy.
Let's show our respect to our neighbors and the space we share by helping to keep it neat and clean.
Try to be considerate of our neighbors,
Communicating before making decisions and conclusions that might affect them.
Following this practice,
We can create a supportive environment for practicing loving-kindness through our words,
Thoughts,
And actions.
The greatest gift we can offer to our community is our practice of mindfulness.
Our smile and our conscious breathing communicate that we are trying our best to find peace within ourselves and we hope to contribute to the peace in our community,
Our city,
Our country,
And in our world.
Let's maintain our attention on the breath and feeling of togetherness,
Allowing us to enter into a period of quiet meditation for the next 10 minutes.
When you are ready,
Slowly bring your attention back.
As we bring this practice to a close,
Take a moment to express gratitude for yourself and for the community around you.
May we continue to cultivate understanding and compassion,
Supporting each other on the path of transformation.
May our practice of mindfulness help us to live in harmony with those around us and with the world.
