Welcome to this meditation,

Embracing the gift of a new day.

I'm Yun Shang and today I'll be your guide in this mindful practice.

Take a deep breath and settle into this moment.

Waking up this morning I smile,

Knowing there are 24 brand new hours before me.

I vow to live fully in each moment and look at all beings with eyes of compassion.

Let's begin this day with the happiness of a smile.

Feel the lightness and peace it brings to your face and heart.

The simple gesture sets the tone for a day dedicated to love,

Understanding and mindful living.

Take a moment now to take three deep conscious breaths.

Breathing in,

Feel yourself awakening fully to the present moment.

Breathing out,

Release any tension or sleepiness still lingering in your body.

As you sit up gently,

Bring awareness to your physical self.

You may like to massage your head,

Neck,

Shoulders and arms.

Feel the energy beginning to circulate,

Awakening your body.

If you would like,

Stretch slowly,

Feeling the movement in your joints and muscles.

This simple act connects you to your physical being and prepares you for the day ahead.

Now imagine yourself enjoying a warm cup of water.

Feel it soothing warm awakening your system,

Nourishing you for the day.

As you move through your morning rituals,

Invite mindfulness into each moment.

Feel the coolness of the air,

The touch of water or the quiet sounds around you.

Let yourself take the time to prepare for the day without rushing,

Savoring the quiet beauty of the early morning.

If you step outside,

Notice the dark sky,

The twinkling stars greeting you and the fresh cool air filling your lungs.

Walking slowly and mindfully,

Let the morning fill your being with gratitude and joy.

Each moment is an invitation to awaken to the beauty of life and to live fully.

Carry this invitation with you into the rest of your day.

When you are ready,

Take a final deep breath,

Smile once more and open your eyes to the gift of this fresh new day.
