Hello friends!
I'm Yin Shang.
Welcome to this mindfulness meditation practice.
Today we will focus on cultivating the energy of mindfulness and learning to bring it in our daily lives.
We begin by finding a comfortable seated position,
Allowing your body to relax and settle.
Take a few deep breaths,
Feeling the rise and fall of your chest with each inhale and exhale.
As we begin this practice,
Let us remember that mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment.
It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life.
Bring to mind an activity you do often,
Such as washing the dishes,
Driving the car,
Or taking a morning shower.
As we practice mindfulness,
We bring our body and mind into harmony,
Fully present and alive in each moment.
To be mindful is to be truly alive,
Present,
And at one with those around you and with what you are doing.
We often think of meditation as something we do in a quiet room.
However,
We can practice mindfulness throughout every moment of the day,
As we do most of the things we are used to,
Walking,
Sitting,
Typing,
Eating,
Or anything else.
During this practice,
We learn to do those things with mindfulness,
With an awareness that we are doing them.
We practice mindfulness throughout every moment of the day,
Not just in meditation posture alone in a room.
We can be mindful in the kitchen,
In the office,
On the streets,
And on the path leading from one place to another.
In this practice,
We are cultivating our awareness and learning to be truly present with what we are doing.
As we practice together as a community,
Our practice of mindfulness becomes more joyful,
Relaxed,
And steady.
Let's take a moment to connect with our breath and our body.
Notice any sensations in your body,
Any areas of tension or discomfort.
Allow your breath to bring ease and relaxation to those areas.
As we practice,
We are like bells of mindfulness for each other,
Supporting and reminding each other along the path of practice.
With the support of the community,
We cultivate peace and joy within and around us,
As a gift for all of those whom we love and care for.
We cultivate our solidity and freedom,
Solid in our deepest aspiration and free from our fears,
Misunderstandings,
And our suffering.
Let's approach every aspect of this practice with curiosity and understanding,
Not just with a form and appearance.
Enjoy your practice with a relaxed and gentle attitude,
With an open mind and receptive heart.
Let's maintain our focus on the present moment,
Observing our breath and cultivating the energy of mindfulness,
Which will guide us toward a period of 5 minutes of quiet meditation.
Now,
As we bring this practice to a close,
Take a moment to express gratitude for yourself and for this practice.
May we carry the energy of mindfulness with us as we go about our day,
Fully present and alive in each moment.
