Echoes Of Ancestors - Drums (Rhythm)
by JM Py
In collaboration with Christopher Ifeloluwa, Echoes of Ancestors is a pure drumming piece for busy minds. The title refers to the Sakara and the Gangan—both traditional "talking drums" that act as speech surrogates, carrying the melodic voices of the past. The piece begins with the Sakara, while the Agbamole provides the deep, rooting foundation pulse. To help you stay present, the Gangan and the Agogo bell act as anchors to catch wandering thoughts and pull them back to the center. Supported by Clave drums, this is an earthy tool designed to quiet mental noise while connecting you with ancient heritage. It is a simple, rhythmic path to finding grounded stillness. Drums & Rhythmic (rhythm): When your mind is racing, these steady, traditional beats act as your anchor. The rhythm gives your wandering attention something solid to hold onto, keeping you grounded in the "here and now."
