I invite you to get into a comfortable position either seated with palms facing down on your knees or lying down with palms facing the sky above,
Whichever calls for you in this moment.
As you begin to let our bodies know that it is okay to relax,
I'll ask you to soften your gaze as you slowly close your eyes.
I now ask to gently shift your awareness to the ground below,
Mother Earth,
Energy of love and strength supporting us,
Our bodies.
As we gain awareness of any tension clinging to our bones,
Our muscles,
Our organs,
Let's call for softness and relaxation by loosening the shoulders and neck,
Rolling them side to side,
Forwards and backwards,
Releasing the belly,
Lengthening the spine so your heart may lift and open to the moon and sun above.
We'll now shift our awareness to our breath.
If you'd like,
You can place your left hand on your heart and your right hand on your belly,
Giving yourself,
Your body,
A gentle hug.
Take a deep breath in from your nose,
Filling your belly and feeling your breath rise up to your heart center.
Now to your throat and releasing slowly through your nose.
We'll do this two more times at your own pace and giving you some silence.
If your mind starts to wander,
That's okay,
Just bring your attention back to your breath,
Back to your home base.
Now imagine a honey dripper covered with sweet golden warm honey swirling a few inches above your head.
And as it swirls,
You can feel the warmth of the honey,
Its golden touch beginning to run down from the crown of your head and slowly dripping down.
The back of your head and forehead,
Releasing all tension by its touch.
You may feel it caressing your eyebrows,
Softening your top eyelid,
Bridge of your nose,
Delicately outlining the curve of your ears,
Your cheeks,
The drip arriving from the tip of your nose.
They dive down,
Filling your cupid's bow and releasing slowly caressing your top lip and bottom lip.
You may even be able to taste a bit of honey slipping,
Slipping through.
And as the honey reaches your jawline,
Become aware of any tightness,
You may feel the honey's golden touch release any tension as it soothes the area.
You may feel honey running past your chin,
Soothing down your throat,
Creating warm sensations as it rolls down and become aware of how the honey now feels on both sides of your neck,
The back of your neck,
Trickling gradually down your spine,
Vertebrae by vertebrae,
Loosening any tension from the day.
Now it's releasing tension from your shoulders,
Down your upper arms,
Trickling down to your forearms,
Elbows loosening your muscles from your arms down to your wrists,
Your hands,
And the honey's caressing the outline of your palm and each finger all the way down to the fingertips.
Now bring your awareness to how the honey brushes your collarbone,
Flowing down to open and warm your heart center,
Down caressing your chest,
Hugging your belly,
Your hips,
Your pelvis,
Sit bone,
Now reaching the top of your legs and relaxing all muscles.
As it swirls down your thighs,
It curves the hills of your kneecaps,
Dripping down behind your kneecaps,
Your calves,
And you can feel the warmth of the honey relaxing your ankles,
The warmth dripping down to the tops of your feet,
Loosening each toe,
And as they,
As the drops of honey curves each toe,
It slides down,
Relaxing the soles of your feet.
As we come to the end of this body scan,
I'll ask to bring your awareness to your hands,
Rubbing them together,
Creating some warmth and energy.
We now bring the palms of our hand cupping our eyes and our face.
We'll now take in three big deep breaths in from your nose and sighing out from your mouth.
As you do more,
Let me do this in your own pace.
You may gently open your eyes.
I'm turning you in this body scan.
Namaste.
