Hello my sweet listener.
Welcome to Storytime with Nana Jojo.
I'm so happy you're here.
I'm Nana Jojo and I have the most wonderful stories to share with you.
Every week I bring you magical stories filled with adventure,
Kindness,
And happy endings.
They're perfect for bedtime,
Nap time,
Or any time you want to hear a story.
We'll visit enchanted forests,
Meet brave princes and princesses,
And we'll learn important lessons about kindness,
Courage,
Friendship,
And staying true to ourselves.
But before we start our story today,
Let's get cozy.
Make sure you've got your favorite stuffy and maybe even a soft cuddly blanket.
Are you ready?
Wonderful.
Next,
Let's do some calming breaths together before our story begins,
Okay?
Remember that when we take big slow breaths,
Our bodies feel happier and more relaxed.
So let's breathe together,
Okay?
Take a nice big breath in through your nose like this.
And then you can make a sound as you breathe out like this.
Good job.
Let's do another one together.
Big breath in and breathe out again with a happy sigh.
Yay.
Awesome job.
One more time,
Okay?
Big breath in and breathe out with a happy sigh.
Super duper job.
Do you feel more relaxed?
Yay,
Me too.
Okay,
My sweet listener,
It's time for our story now.
Come snuggling close.
Let's begin.
This is a magical story about a kind princess named Snow White,
Seven helpful dwarves,
And the power of friendship and goodness.
Once upon a time,
In a kingdom far,
Far away,
There lived a beautiful princess named Snow White.
Snow White had skin as white as snow,
Lips as red as roses,
And hair as black as the midnight sky.
Snow White was not only beautiful on the outside,
She was also beautiful on the inside.
She was kind to everyone she met.
She was gentle with all the animals in the forest,
And she always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart.
Snow White lived in a castle with her stepmother,
The queen.
The queen was very different from Snow White.
The queen cared only about being the most beautiful person in the kingdom.
She had a special magic mirror that she would ask every single day,
Mirror,
Mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?
She would ask.
And every day,
The mirror would answer,
You are,
Your majesty.
One day,
When Snow White had grown into a lovely young woman,
The mirror gave a different answer.
When the queen asked her question,
The mirror said,
Snow White is the fairest in the land.
The queen got very angry.
She wanted to be the most beautiful person of all,
So she did something mean.
She told Snow White,
You have to leave.
Go live in the forest.
Poor Snow White felt sad and frightened,
But she was also brave.
Snow White packed a small bag,
Said goodbye to the castle,
And walked into the deep,
Dark forest.
As she wandered through the trees,
Snow White began to feel very tired and a little bit scared.
The forest was so big,
And she felt so small.
But just when she thought she couldn't walk another step,
She saw something wonderful between the trees.
It was a tiny cottage with a cheerful red door,
And smoke was coming from the chimney.
Snow White knocked on the door.
Knock,
Knock,
Knock.
But no one answered.
She gently opened the door and peeked inside.
Hello?
Is anyone home?
She asked.
The cottage was empty,
But oh my,
What a curious little house it was.
Everything inside was so small.
There were seven tiny chairs around a tiny table,
Seven tiny plates,
Seven tiny cups,
And upstairs Snow White found seven tiny beds all in a row.
Oh my,
Said Snow White,
Seven people must live here,
And they must be very,
Very small.
Snow White was so tired from her long walk,
So she lay down across three of the tiny beds and fell fast asleep.
Meanwhile,
The seven people who lived in the cottage were walking home from their work in the diamond mines.
They were seven dwarves,
And each one had a special name.
There was Doc,
Who was very wise.
There was Happy,
Who smiled all the time.
There was Sleepy,
Who yawned quite a lot.
There was Sneezy,
Who sneezed all day long.
There was Grumpy,
Who frowned a lot,
But who also had a good heart.
There was Bashful,
Who was quite shy.
And there was Dopey,
Who was silly and sweet and didn't say much at all.
As the seven dwarves came closer to their cottage,
Doc said,
Look,
There's a light on in our house.
Someone's been inside,
Said Grumpy with a frown.
They tiptoed very quietly into their cottage and they looked around.
Everything seemed normal until they went upstairs and found Snow White sleeping peacefully on their beds.
It's a girl,
Whispered Bashful,
Hiding behind Doc.
She's very pretty,
Said Happy with a big smile.
Shh,
Don't wake her,
Said Doc.
She looks very tired.
When Snow White finally woke up,
She was surprised to see seven little men with beards and mining clothes staring at her with curious faces.
Oh,
Hello,
Said Snow White sitting up.
I'm so sorry for coming into your house without asking.
My name is Snow White and I have nowhere else to go.
Snow White told them her whole story.
She told them about the Jealous Queen,
About being sent away from the castle,
And about finding their cottage in the forest.
The seven dwarves looked at each other and they nodded.
You can stay with us,
Said Happy.
Really?
Asked Snow White.
Her eyes lit up with joy.
Of course,
Said Doc.
We'll keep you safe here.
Even Grumpy,
Though he tried to frown,
Couldn't help but agree.
I suppose it would be nice to have someone to keep the house tidy,
He mumbled.
And so Snow White stayed with the seven dwarves and they all became the very best of friends.
Every morning,
The dwarves would go off to work in the mines.
Snow White would stay and keep the cottage clean,
Cook delicious meals,
And sing beautiful songs.
The animals from the forest,
The birds,
The rabbits,
The squirrels,
And the deer,
They'd all come to visit Snow White.
They loved her gentle nature and her kind heart.
For many months,
Snow White lived happily with the seven dwarves.
She had never felt so loved and so safe.
But back at the castle,
The queen asked her magic mirror the same old question.
Mirror,
Mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?
And the mirror answered,
Snow White,
Living with the seven dwarves,
Is still the fairest in the land.
This made the queen furious.
She decided to disguise herself as an old woman selling apples in the forest.
She would trick Snow White.
One day,
While the dwarves were at work,
There came a knock at the cottage door.
Snow White opened it to find an old woman with a basket of shiny red apples.
Would you like to buy a beautiful apple,
Dearie?
Asked the old woman in a scratchy voice.
The dwarves had warned Snow White not to let any strangers inside.
But this seemed like just a kind old woman selling fruit.
They look delicious,
Said Snow White.
Here,
Take a bite of this one,
Said the old woman.
Then she held out the reddest,
Shiniest apple of all.
It's a magic wishing apple.
Make a wish and take a bite.
Snow White closed her eyes.
She made a wish for all her friends to always be happy.
Then she took a small bite of the apple.
But oh no,
The apple had a sleeping spell on it.
The moment Snow White swallowed,
She fell into a deep,
Deep sleep,
Right there on the cottage floor.
The disguised queen laughed and hurried away,
Thinking she had won at last.
When the seven dwarves came home that evening,
They found Snow White lying on the floor,
As still as could be.
They tried everything to wake her,
But nothing worked.
The dwarves were heartbroken.
They loved Snow White so much.
They built a beautiful glass case and they placed her inside,
Surrounded by flowers,
So they could watch over her day and night.
The forest animals came too,
Keeping watch beside their beautiful friend.
Days turned into weeks,
And weeks turned into months,
But Snow White slept on.
In a neighboring kingdom,
There lived a kind and handsome prince.
One day,
While riding through the forest,
He came upon the cottage and he saw the glass case with Snow White inside.
The prince had never seen anyone so beautiful,
Even in sleep.
But more than her beauty,
He could sense her goodness and her kind heart.
Who is this?
He asked the dwarves.
They told him the whole story about the jealous queen,
The enchanted apple,
And how Snow White had been sleeping for so long.
The prince knelt beside the glass case.
She must have been very kind and very special,
He said softly.
May I say goodbye to her?
The dwarves nodded.
The prince gently lifted the glass and gave Snow White a soft kiss on her forehead,
A kiss of kindness and care.
And do you know what happened?
The magic of that gentle,
Caring kiss broke the sleeping spell.
Snow White's eyes fluttered open.
She took a deep breath and sat up,
Looking around at all the faces staring at her with joy and wonder.
You're awake,
Cried Happy,
Jumping up and down.
We thought we'd lost you forever,
Said Doc,
Wiping happy tears from his eyes.
Even Grumpy was smiling,
Really truly smiling.
Snow White hugged each of the seven dwarves and she petted all the forest animals and she thanked the kind prince for his help in breaking the spell.
As for the wicked queen,
When she looked in her mirror and saw that Snow White had awakened,
She was so angry that she ran away from the kingdom and was never seen again.
The prince asked Snow White if she would like to come and live in his castle where she would be safe forever.
Snow White agreed,
But only if the seven dwarves could visit whenever they wanted.
And so Snow White went to live in the prince's beautiful castle.
The seven dwarves visited her often and they all remained the very best of friends for the rest of their days.
Snow White learned something very important from her adventure,
That true beauty comes from having a kind heart,
That good friends are the greatest treasure of all,
And that goodness always wins in the end.
The end.
And that,
My dear little ones,
Is the end of our story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
Remember,
Like Snow White,
You can choose to be kind even when others aren't kind to you.
And remember,
Like the seven dwarves,
You can be a good friend who helps others when they need you.
Most of all,
Always remember that Nana Jojo loves you so very much.
I'll be right here when you're ready for another story.
And if it's time for you to go to sleep now,
I'm wishing you the sweetest dreams.
Good night and sleep tight.
I'll see you again soon.
