This is a guided imagery meditation.
We'll be meditating on colors today.
To begin,
Make yourself comfortable.
Sitting is a great position for meditation,
But if it is not comfortable for you,
It is okay to lay down.
Notice how your body feels in this moment.
Pay attention to the state of your body right now.
Do not try to change anything.
Really notice how your body and mind feel.
Feel your body begin to relax slightly.
As your shoulders drop a little,
Your jaw loosens so your teeth are not touching,
Your eyelids start to feel heavy,
And your breath begins to slow.
Take a deep breath in,
Hold it,
And slowly breathe out.
Now just focus in on your breathing.
Your body knows how much air you need.
Pay attention on the feeling of the rise and fall of your chest,
The in and out movement of the air.
Feel the pause after you inhale and before you exhale,
And the pause before drawing another breath.
Allow your body to relax and your mind to focus on my voice.
Allow the relaxation to occur naturally.
Allow and observe.
Create an image in your mind of the color red.
Imagine red of all shades.
Do you see images,
Solid color,
Waves of color?
See what you see.
Imagine all the different tones of red,
Roses,
Bricks,
Apples,
Sunset.
Sit with the color red and enjoy the color red.
Watch as the color you are watching slowly starts to change.
Watch the shift happen as the color changes to orange.
Feel the entire visual field of your mind's eye with the color orange.
Feel what orange feels like.
Experience everything orange wants you to experience.
Enjoy the color orange.
Allow the color to change again.
Recognize the color yellow.
See in your mind all the various shades of yellow.
Allow yellow to fill your vision.
See what stands out for you for yellow.
Imagine the endless tones of the color yellow.
Imagine yourself surrounded with the calming color yellow.
Immerse yourself.
Enjoy the color yellow.
As if sitting inside the rainbow,
Allow the color to change again.
Let the color you are imagining become green.
Fill your imagination with the color green,
Endless shades and tones of green.
Imagine being surrounded by beautiful green,
All shades from the lightest to the darkest,
Bright green,
Subdued green.
Enjoy the color green.
As you breathe and relax deeper,
See in front of you the color blue.
Surround yourself with beautiful blue,
Unending shades of blue,
The water,
The sky.
Imagine blue filling your vision.
Allow the feeling that blue brings wash over you.
Enjoy the color blue.
Feel the color change.
See the color violet in front of you.
Focus on the multitude of purples around you.
Immerse yourself in the color violet.
Enjoy violet.
Bring your attention back to your breathing.
Notice how calm and regular your breathing is now.
Meditate on the calming color once more.
Imagine the colors again one at a time,
Starting with red,
Orange,
Yellow,
Green,
Blue,
And violet.
Now picture whatever calming color you wish.
Do you have a favorite color?
Allow your color to wash over you.
Do you have a color that suits your mood right now?
Allow this color to wash over you.
Allow your mind to be relaxed,
Focused,
And calm.
Enjoy the feeling of relaxation you are experiencing.
Now it is time to return your attention to your regular activities.
As you return to your normal,
Remember the feeling you received from each color.
If you feel your mood or state of mind changing,
See the color you feel.
Allow the color to wash over you and take away anything that is not good for you.
Return to this meditation as often as needed.
Sit as long as you need and when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
