I'd like you to take a moment and just get settled in a comfortable position.
Preferably seated with your feet firm on the floor,
Spine straight,
Shoulders back,
And just take a moment to come into this space,
This space of calm,
Of relaxation.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Filling your belly,
Exhale through the mouth.
Two more just like that.
In through the nose,
And out through the mouth.
Let your eyes close,
Let your mouth close,
And let your breathing happen automatically through the nose,
Remembering that this time is just for you.
This is a time for you to feel grounded,
For you to feel safe.
We'll begin by feeling the bottoms of the feet.
Put all of your focus into the soles of the feet and observe what they feel like.
Can you feel the floor?
Is it warm?
Is it cold?
Can you feel the ground?
Wiggle your toes,
Feel each sensation.
Pressing your feet firmly on the floor,
I want you to begin to imagine that you have these roots growing down and out from the soles of your feet.
If you can't picture it,
Just pretend.
Pretend what it would feel like to have roots growing out of the soles of your feet.
Feel these roots grow with each breath,
Each exhale,
They grow a little bit more.
A little bit more.
Imagine these roots growing through the floor,
Through the earth,
Through the dirt and the rocks and the water,
Through all the layers of the earth.
And now picture these roots reaching the core of the earth,
Wrapping around the center,
Melting in,
Becoming one with the core.
What does it feel like to be connected to the center of the earth?
Now I want you to imagine red,
Fiery,
Warm energy moving up these roots,
The same energy that heats our earth's floor moving up these roots.
And it moves up through all the layers,
Through the dirt and the rocks,
The water,
The soil.
This warm,
Red,
Fiery energy from the core of the earth travels all the way through your floor and into the soles of the feet.
Can you feel it?
Can you feel the earth's energy so strong and powerful pulsating through the soles of the feet?
Now picture this red energy moving through the feet,
Up through the ankles,
Up the legs,
Into the hips,
And settling at the base of the spine.
Feel this red earth energy ignite your root chakra.
Picture in your mind's eye a ruby red glowing ball of energy at the base of your spine.
It feels so good there,
So safe,
So grounded.
With each inhale,
Draw more earth energy up your roots,
Up your legs,
And into your core.
With each exhale,
Feel rejuvenation Exhale,
Feel release.
Release anything that no longer serves you.
Release anything that does not feel good.
And when you inhale,
Feel grounded.
Feel at home.
Feel protected.
With each inhale,
Feel that you are safe.
Repeat this mantra either out loud,
In a whisper,
Or just in your mind.
Say to yourself,
I am.

I am.
This is the mantra of the root chakra.
I am grounded.
I am balanced.
I am safe.
I am protected.
Let this mantra flow through your mind like your blood flows through your veins.
Let it flow the way that your heart beats.

I'll give you some time,
Some space,
To just let this mantra flow through you.
If you feel your mind begin to drift,
That's okay.
Just come back to the mantra.

Feel this mantra settle down into your root chakra,
The red center of energy at the base of the spine.
Feel your roots growing all the way down to the core of the earth and thank them for feeding you this life energy.
Whenever you're ready,
Begin to feel the weight of your hands,
The weight of your feet,
The weight of your whole body.
Find movement in the fingers,
Movement in the toes.
Whenever you're ready,
Bring your hands together at heart center and rub your palms together,
Creating heat,
Building up energy.
And place your hands over the eyes,
Feeling so calm,
So grounded,
Refreshed,
Re-energized,
Refocused and ready to start this day.
