Hello and welcome beautiful Insight Timer community.
Today we are on week 21 of our year of journaling.
So as always I have pulled a random card from the Cosmic Journey Oracle by Yannick Silver and I got number 34,
You Are Perfectly Imperfect.
And in the book he says,
We somehow want to be seen as perfect with absolutely no defects,
Holes or scars,
But those imperfections make you more beautiful rather than less.
They give you more empathy and more strength to face anything.
When your heart is cracked wide open,
The light finds its way in.
That's how the song of our soul can flow into our lives.
Crack wide open.
Your pain has meaning.
Your sorrow has held tremendous significance beyond what you may have considered already.
Embrace it all because your healed wounds become the medicine our world desperately needs now.
So that was short and sweet and to the point.
And I do love that image of being perfectly imperfect because many of us do strive for perfection.
I know I do.
And sometimes I'm very hard on myself if I'm not perfect.
So his question to us for journaling,
What greater meaning can I now see coming from my greatest suffering?
Of course,
I'm always drawn to my first marriage when I get questions like that because that was definitely a challenging time in my life.
Let's put it that way.
And a time of amazing growth and changes and a lot of independence came from my stepping out of that marriage and going out on my own with my kids,
Getting my own place.
It was a lot of changes,
A lot of struggles,
But a lot of amazing things came out of that,
Including eventually meeting my current husband,
Who has been a wonderful change from my first marriage.
So here,
List five situations that cracked you wide open.
Take an elevated view.
What have you learned from those situations?
What good things in your life would you not have without having experienced that situation or having learned what you did?
Needless to say,
I'm loving this prompt already.
Let's put some time on the clock.
Let's listen to Blossom Violet's beautiful improvised music,
Which by the way,
Came from our live journaling sessions,
Which I hope you've joined some of those.
She's incredible.
She's letting me use all of her music and this is what we're listening to while we're journaling.
All right,
My friends,
I hope you had a lot of wonderful thoughts to put down in your journal.
I hope you share some of them with me.
I love hearing what you've been journaling about.
I get so many amazing messages and I like sharing what I'm journaling about as well.
And as I said,
For me,
That first marriage always comes to mind.
That was a challenging time in my life and it led to some really beautiful,
Amazing things.
And as hard as that all seemed back then,
Now,
Oh,
It's 20 years later,
I'm definitely living my best life.
Turning 60 at the end of the month,
Which I'm excited about and never thought I'd be excited about turning 60,
But I'm at such a good place in my life.
And I have to say that journaling throughout my first marriage was therapy for me.
It really helped me.
So I hope that a lot of you continue journaling,
Even on days when we're not doing prompts,
Because journaling for me was,
It was just amazing.
It just led to so many thoughts and things that I never thought I could accomplish.
I was able to just sort everything out in my journal for myself.
And when I read back now,
Who I was back then is completely different from who I am now.
And who I am now is somebody I'm really proud of and really happy with and just delighted to be living my best life.
All right,
My friends,
Let's meet back here next week for week 22.
And until then,
I hope you're having an amazing day and an amazing week.
And please continue to shine like the beautiful diamond that you are.
