Hello and welcome beautiful Insight Timer community.
Today is week 16 of our year of journaling.
So I pulled out my Cosmic Journey Oracle by Yannick Silver and randomly pulled a card and it took me a second to realize I pulled number 16.
I love that synchronicity.
So number 16 says,
How can this be a wonderful win,
Win,
Win.
Interesting card.
So I opened up the book and read his description.
In the situation that you're in,
There's a solution that can truly help you,
Your community,
Our planet,
Your venture,
Everyone.
Yet something holds you back.
Do you even really need to be persuaded and influenced to do what's better for you and the world?
Perhaps there is a deep-seated belief that you don't deserve.
Do you worry that any act that benefits you must be selfish and thus an evil scheme?
Know that there is a path that leads to your win,
Win,
Win.
Your evil scheme is one for global good.
What's possible?
Anything,
If you can imagine it.
Interesting card.
And the question is,
What is my idea for an evil scheme for global good?
So this made me think of a lot of things.
Fellow Insight Timer,
Teacher,
Janergy started a commitment to love,
Which is a,
What I would call a,
Not a scheme,
But something for the global good.
And I was delighted to be able to help him kick it off with an Ask Your Guides.
And I guess if you look at it,
The evil scheme part of it,
I suppose,
Is being able to attract a crowd to come to an event like that.
I have to admit,
Kind of feeds the ego,
Doesn't it?
And for a while there,
I thought to myself,
If I'm doing something that helps a lot of people,
And in return,
I get a lot of praise for doing it,
Is that coming from the ego or is it coming from my desire to help?
And I'll be honest,
I kind of struggled with that one for a while.
But then I listened to a podcast by fellow Insight Timer teacher,
Lou Redman,
Where he discusses the ego and how we all have a certain amount of ego.
And it's not necessarily a bad thing,
Especially if you're using it in a situation like that for the greater good.
So that kind of made me think of it differently.
When I started Ask Your Guides,
It became very popular.
And of course,
That thrilled me,
The fact that it resonated with so many people and it drew such a big crowd and so much praise really made me feel good.
And once again,
I was thinking,
Am I doing this from a place of ego or from a place of wanting to help?
And now I kind of think,
Well,
Maybe it's a little bit of both.
And maybe it's okay to be honest.
And that's not a bad thing.
I do what I do here on Insight Timer because I love it,
Because I enjoy it.
I love the interactions.
I love having a place where I can use my voice.
And I love hearing other people tell me how much it helps them.
So yes,
Perhaps there is a little bit of ego involved in getting so many compliments.
I think,
In a way,
We all need that kind of validation.
But I still believe that if you're doing something for the greater good,
Perhaps it's not so bad that there's a little bit of ego involved.
Because let's face it,
That may still be incentive.
A lot of the work that we do on Insight Timer as teachers,
We do for free.
And is it a horrible thing to have a little bit of ego involved as motivation?
I don't think so.
All right,
Friends,
Hopefully you understand where I'm coming from.
Feel free to reach out if you don't.
I know that's a little confusing.
This card threw me.
I really had to think about it.
And I actually love this question.
So let's journal on the question.
What is my idea for an evil scheme?
And we put evil scheme in quotes.
What is my idea for an evil scheme for global good?
Let's listen to Blossom Violet's beautiful music.
Let's think about that question.
And let's do some journaling.
All right,
My friends,
I hope you had a lot to write about,
A lot to think about.
And this question really fascinated me.
So I hope that you will share with me what your evil scheme for global good might be.
And honestly,
Maybe you've got some ideas for future Ask Your Guides that you'd like to share with me.
I'm all for perpetuating this evil scheme,
Quote unquote,
For global good.
So let me know what you think.
I hope that you're having an amazing week.
And I look forward to hearing from you.
And I look forward to meeting back here next week for week 17.
