Over the next 52 weeks, we'll use journaling as a tool for deep self-discovery—a chance to reflect, embrace, and shape your future with honesty and without fear. Each week a new Oracle card provides a prompt to guide you, but remember, this is your journey. There are no rules. Take what resonates and leave the rest. Whether you prefer pen and paper or a digital format, the key is to engage and enjoy the process. We'll be using Yanik Silver's "The Cosmic Journey Oracle." This week's card: #11 "Each evolutionary turn requires you to give up who you think you are" —a perfect theme for our first week together, as this concept of letting go is fundamental to growth and self-discovery. Background music: 'Dance of Inner Peace' by my friend, the incredible Blossom Violet. Follow her for more beautiful piano tracks! I've also included her music in my journaling playlists, which you can find here on my teacher's profile, at the bottom of the "Home" tab. Join the ASK YOUR GUIDES group, too!

Hello and welcome beautiful Insight Timer community!

Most of you know by now I'm a huge fan of journaling and I recently completed some other journaling tracks which you can find here under my teacher's profile and I'll be honest I was a little sad because I was enjoying doing these but I was worried that I couldn't keep up the pace of doing them every day.

The last set I did were 12 days of gratitude journaling.

Really enjoyed that.

Definitely check them out.

But today I got a message from Tom Evans who many of you know is an amazing teacher here on Insight Timer.

Also a wonderful mentor and a great supporter of all the Insight Timer teachers.

So grateful to Tom when I was a new teacher on Insight Timer.

I had gotten a lot of ambient music from him and I had no idea what I was doing back then.

I created some tracks as best I could but his music was a huge help to me and as most of you know currently I am obsessed with Blossom Violet's music.

So that is the music that you're hearing in the background now.

But Tom made a great suggestion.

He said to me why don't you create one journaling track per week for a year and I thought hmm that's a great idea.

I can handle that.

I may not be able to keep up with doing one every day because my full-time job of course demands my attention but one a week I can do that and that made me happy because it means I get to keep connecting with you.

So I was thinking which deck to use because as you know I love to pull an oracle card and I love to use that for my journaling prompt and I have a deck called The Cosmic Journey by Yannick Silver.

I got this deck a couple of years ago and it was actually one of the very first decks that I had gotten.

The reason I was drawn to it is because it's about journaling.

So I thought well you know what I'm gonna be using this deck.

It's got 55 cards.

I'm doing 52 weeks so this is perfect.

So I went in and randomly pulled a card.

Got number 11.

Each evolutionary turn requires you to give up who you think you are.

All right besides the fact that I love the number 11,

The prompt couldn't be better.

This is the perfect way to start 52 weeks of journaling.

I am going to put some time on the clock.

We're going to do some journaling however I encourage you to journal or script and if you're not familiar with scripting that's a way of writing something that you want in the future as if it has already manifested.

And if you're not familiar with scripting please check out my scripting tracks which you will also find under my teacher's profile.

I like to encourage people to do what comes natural to you and alternate.

Some days I journal.

Some days I script.

Honestly some days I doodle and I'm not even a creative person.

I can't draw.

But some days I just make pictures of the sun.

I'll write some things around it.

Do whatever works for you.

Also if you do it digitally,

On a laptop,

A tablet or you do it on pen and paper,

Totally up to you.

Do not confine yourself to rules.

That's the best advice I can give you.

I've been journaling since I was about nine years old.

Not consistently but I remember my first journal at age nine and I always did my own thing and as I got older it changed.

Sometimes I was doing it on a computer.

Sometimes I was using a book.

Even now I've got a bunch of journals.

Some are really pretty.

Some have prompts.

Do what works for you.

Let's just do it every week.

Okay so back to the card number 11.

At this threshold you have now come to you must give up what you thought you were so you can move into who you truly are.

Each and every turn on the evolutionary spiral requires you to fully step into another level of creation to usher in what's next.

A step on the spiral might sometimes feel like a step backward but there is only one perfect progress on your pathless path as you surrender.

Your identity is so deeply rooted in your roles,

Your car,

Your place in society,

Your bank account,

Your profession,

All of it.

It's time to shed your skin.

Each turn has its own perils and rewards both easier and harder every time.

Harder to give up what came before but easier because you know what's coming.

Your next leap into galactic emergence.

So the question we're going to journal on is what is the deepest identity I'm scared to give up?

All right my friends let's put some time on the clock.

Let's do some writing.

And remember what I always say.

There are no rules.

If this question doesn't resonate,

Journal about whatever you want.

Script about whatever you want.

Make a picture if you want.

I'm going to repeat the question.

What is the deepest identity I'm scared to give up?

All right let's meet back here in a few minutes.

All right my friends I hope you enjoyed your journaling time.

I hope you got some good thoughts out and I hope you share some of them with me.

I love reading in your reviews what you've gotten from your journaling prompts.

I'll share a little bit about mine.

For me it was this people-pleasing identity that I've had for so long.

And I know a lot of you can relate because there's a lot of us people pleasers out there.

But the one thing I'm working on this year is being true to myself and letting go of this need to please others.

And it's definitely a work in progress.

So let me know what you're working on.

Let me know what you thought about this prompt.

And let's meet back here tomorrow for day two.

And as always my friends,

Shine bright like a diamond and have an amazing day.

Meet your Teacher

I hide in the shadow of the therapist and fixer of all chaos and problems among others surrounding me. Isn’t that the exact cloak which protects me from the spotlight being on me?

What a great idea! Commiting it a weekly journalling. Re identity I am scared to let go of... Mine is career related and the role of an Interior Designer. I have held onto it, let it go in the past but gone back to it. I feel I need to fully let go once and for all so I can step into the vision I have for myself and the role I was truly here to play. Lots of societal conditioning to be undone. It's been unravelling for some time. Thanks for the opportunity for reflection. 🙏❤️

Well that was one great start : first thanks for the thanks : I appreciate the appreciation : and second, what timing? The new version of Tom is currently incarnating, taking my own advice to come out of the chrysalis inspired by Blossom Violet : what connections we are weaving : just one errata, at the end you refer to Day #2 (old habits) when I think you mean Week #2 (great deck by the way)

Ooh Violet this was great. Thank you. I thought about my codependency and my anxiety and my anger. Those were some of the hardest things for me to work with. People pleasing entered my mind before you said it but not as much as the rest. Thank you again. 🥰🙏🫶

Great start to a year of journaling. I’ve been so distracted I didn’t even finish the 12 days recordings. But this I will. I’m finally getting settled after the holidays and ready to get a new routine in motion. Thank you 🙏🏼 I’m looking forward to this “ journaling journey”

Hi Violet, how are you today? I was able to write ✍️ two pages of the following question. What is the deepest identity, I am scared to give up? For me it is taking back or being in control of my finances. Would I be able to share with you what I wrote today? Or would this not be appropriate.
