Welcome to this meditation for releasing headache or a migraine.
Allowing yourself to settle in,
Finding a comfortable place to either lie down or a seated posture.
Get comfortable if you're lying down,
Maybe pull the blankets over you,
Get nice and snug.
Or if you're sitting,
Wiggle a bit just so you feel steady.
And as you arrive,
Take a few deep breaths,
Preparing yourself for this meditation.
And we are going to use the power of visualization today to reduce or perhaps eliminate your headache or a migraine.
And visualization is a powerful tool and cannot be underestimated.
It's important for you to truly immerse yourself in this process,
Allowing the images that I suggest to take you into a deep state of rest and healing.
So let's begin by first visualizing your entire head and brain as a garden bed,
Full of soil.
And the soil is rich and nutrient because it feeds on your headache.
Visualize your headache as tiny little particles feeding the soil,
Enriching it with vitality.
Allowing any other impurities to feed the soil as well.
Any stress,
Anger,
Clenching of the jaw,
Any resentments.
Allow those to pour into the soil to be recycled.
And as you prepare for the soil,
We're going to plant a tree right in the center of your head.
Plant a tiny little seed directly to the top of your head.
Instantly,
The seed starts to swell with life.
It bursts with tiny little roots climbing down to take root.
It starts to wrap around your head all the way down to your temples and forehead and behind the head,
Down to the neck and top of the shoulders.
These roots are drawing in the pain and the discomfort of pressure in the head as its food and nourishment.
And as the roots spread down and around,
Feel them drain you from your pain and discomfort of a headache.
Raise your headache as the source of nourishment for this tree growing on your head.
And just as the roots start to spread down and wrap around,
The tree above starts to grow.
First,
A little speckle of green pokes out from beneath the top of your head.
And as the roots get bigger and stronger,
The tree begins to get thicker at the stem and slowly rising up to the sky with long,
Beautiful branches extending out in every direction.
Stay with this sensation.
Allow the pain to be sucked up through the roots inside your head and feed and nourish this beautiful tree.
Allow those roots to go down to wherever the pain might be stemming from,
Finding the root cause of this headache.
Be open and receptive and allow for this process to unfold.
The branches are now as big and as wide as the roots below and they're starting to grow green leaves on each branch,
The final step in this process,
Leaving you feeling light and freed from the pressure and tension in the head.
Stay here as long as you'd like,
Keeping your tree alive on top of your head,
Feeling the ease and comfort.
