This meditation comes to you as a gift to engage you into the space of dreamland,
The space of falling gently and easily into sleep.
This meditation will point the way to a deep,
Refreshing sleep.
As we prepare our time together,
Take a moment to be sure that your room has exactly the right lighting that you need to find your way to dreamland.
Make sure that your space is the exact right temperature for your comfort.
Listen and be sure there are no distracting sounds to pull you away from this meditation.
You are responsible for letting go of all distractions that can inhibit this deep,
Refreshing sleep.
So now,
As you have taken the time to set the space,
Please find a way to snuggle in,
To find the perfect position that will allow you to listen deeply,
To melt into this meditation.
And so,
We begin with the familiar.
Any meditation invites us first and foremost to stop,
To perhaps close our eyes and to breathe.
And so,
Let yourself breathe the gentle inhalation and exhalation.
Finding your perfect rhythm as you do so.
Taking a moment now to check within this amazing body of yours and notice any place that may have a sense of soreness or tenseness,
Tightness.
Allow yourself to move and to breathe into those places.
Each gentle,
Calming breath sent to any place that's sore or tense or tight.
All of the activities of the day allowed to release.
Allow yourself to let go,
Honoring this amazing body.
With each breath,
Giving thanks for the gift that this body is.
We take a little bit of time to acknowledge our mind,
Our most amazing mind.
So grateful for this gift.
As you breathe in and breathe out,
Know that any of the day's problems can be set aside so that you may enter into dream time.
Your soul can work on these problems while you sleep.
And so relinquish control and allow your mind to rest.
With each breath,
More and more freedom from the trials of the day.
And now take a moment in whatever spiritual tradition that brings you joy and peace and comfort.
Take these next few breaths to say thank you,
To say goodnight,
To say I'll see you again in the morning.
As we continue to become more and more content and calm and restful and sleepy,
We notice the sensation of melting into the calm of the night.
You are tucked in,
Tucked into the quiet of the night,
Tucked into the deep,
Vast,
Deep rest,
Beautiful quiet.
The deep,
Vast,
Beautiful silence surrounding you,
Calming you,
Protecting you.
In this silence,
Your breath and your heartbeat keep you company.
Your breath and your heartbeat creating a symphony that gently rocks you towards sleep.
The air in the flow,
This breathing in and breathing out.
The back and the forth,
Soothing your tired body and mind.
Encouraging even more the letting go of everything except this letting go and this opening to sleep.
The gift of deep,
Rejuvenating sleep.
And so,
Gently and willingly,
You step towards the dream time.
Ready and willing to drift into this place where your soul is free to wander.
Ready and willing to drift,
Drift into sleep where your soul is free.
Your soul is free to wander.
And so we end this meditation time together as you drift even more deeply into your beautiful night's sleep.
And so it is.
