Life is always unfolding in this very moment.

The past and the future exist only in our minds and it is only awareness is all which is real.

So in these few minutes together,

Let's pause and come fully into this moment.

Let's rest in this moment.

Not doing,

Not fixing,

Not chasing anything.

Not even chasing any experience,

Simply being here in the now.

So wherever you are,

Just find a comfortable position,

Sitting or lying down and allow your body to settle.

This practice can be done both with eyes closed or open.

Take a slow and easy breath,

Breathe in and breathe out.

Just very gently observe the breath.

Just breathe as you usually would.

And let your observation of the breath be very gentle,

Not forced.

Let there be no tension in the body or anywhere.

Just a gentle observation of the breath.

You're not controlling the breath,

You're just watching it.

You're just being with it.

Observe the sensation you feel when the breath comes in.

The coolness of the air,

Warmth as it leaves.

If your mind wanders,

Just gently bring it back,

Bring it back to the breath.

Now bring your attention to the rise and fall of your chest as you breathe.

Observe how your belly expands,

The chest rises when you breathe in and observe how the belly softens,

The fall of the chest when we breathe out.

Being with the breath can be helpful to anchor ourselves in the now.

Now expand your awareness and notice not only the breath but also the sounds around you.

Pay attention to all the sounds around you,

To the faintest sound that is falling upon your ears.

Be attentive to that.

Bring your awareness to the space,

The space around wherever you are.

Be aware of the silence underneath all sound.

Pay attention.

If we are attentive,

In the moments when we are attentive,

Thoughts will not come.

But as soon as we lose attention,

Thoughts come.

So,

Anytime we lose attention,

We gently bring our attention back.

Just being,

Nothing to achieve,

Nothing is missing.

Just this moment.

Notice the simplicity of being here,

Of being in the now,

Resting in the now where there is no doing,

Simply being.

So carry this presence,

Carry this attention the rest of your day and whenever you forget,

Just bring your attention,

Just bring your attention back to this moment,

To this breath.

I wish you a day full of presence.

Om Shanti,

Shanti.
