Have you ever wondered how the Buddha actually practiced mindfulness?
See,
Here's the thing.
Most people think that mindfulness is all about just being and being present in the present moment.
But this is only a small part.
Of how the Buddha actually taught mindfulness.
The Buddha's original teachings on mindfulness are far more transformative and healing.
Because mindfulness was originally taught.
As a complete path.
To develop high levels of wisdom in a peace and freedom from suffering.
And in the Buddhist teachings,
The word that is translated as mindfulness into English is called sati.
And according to the Buddhist tradition,
The word sati or mindfulness actually means to remember.
To keep in mind.
And to remember to apply the Buddha's Dharma teachings in our mindfulness practice.
So to practice mindfulness as the Buddha intended,
The first thing we have to do is to learn.
The Buddha's Dharma teachings.
And then we'd be mindful to apply them in our daily life and our meditation practice.
The Buddhist Dharma's teachings encompass many different amazing practices.
Ranging from helping us to get a deeper understanding of ourself and our lives.
To develop insight into how we overcome suffering.
To develop greater wisdom and intuition.
And to develop mindfulness of how to live a happy,
Successful,
Fulfilling life.
Some of the most important Buddha's teachings are called the Three Jewels.
The Four Foundations of Mindfulness.
The three characteristics of existence.
And the great Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.
Just to name a few of these practices.
Once we learn these Buddha's teachings of the Dharma,
And apply them in our meditation practice.
And our daily life,
You'll find your meditation practice and your life will totally transform.
You'll have a powerful set of tools to manage whatever challenge arises in your daily life you'll be able to identify the triggers and causes of any suffering,
Stress,
Or fears or worries.
You become less reactive and more emotionally balanced.
And better equipped to deal the challenges of life that we all experience.
And we walk the path and we live a more happier,
Successful,
Fulfilling life.
Thanks so much for watching.
