Hello everybody,
My name is Tony Myers and in this video I'd like to share with you how practicing authentic mindfulness can help us to reduce stress.
Free the mind from unnecessary suffering and help us to cultivate great inner peace,
Happiness and fulfilment in our lives.
All of us experience stress in our daily life.
Work pressures,
Financial concerns,
Relationship challenges,
And uncertainty about the future.
All these things create a lot of stress and strain on the body and the mind.
Over time,
This stress can leave us feeling very overwhelmed,
Exhausted and it simply makes life feel very challenging.
But the Buddha discovered a way to solve all of this,
And he realized that most of our suffering comes not from these difficult situations,
But from how we relate and manage these stressful situations in our life.
When we're in these stressful situations,
Whether it's our meditation practice or our daily life,
The first step is to pause.
Take a mindful breath.
And be mindful of your thoughts,
Your feelings.
Pause and mindfully observe the content of your mind with kindness,
Compassion and curiosity.
When you practice mindfulness like this.
You'll start to notice.
The triggers that are contributing to your stress.
You might notice that you might be worrying about the past.
Or you might be worrying about things that are no longer in your life.
You might be overthinking or imagining worst-case scenarios that may not even ever happen in your life.
The second step is to be mindful and to contemplate a little further.
To gather more information.
We might ask ourselves,
What is causing the stress?
What specific patterns,
Beliefs are contributing to our reactions?
By further exploring,
We start to develop more insight and a deeper understanding and we start to recognize the triggers of the stress.
When we do this,
We become better able to identify precisely what's creating the stress.
The third step is to simply learn from our experience.
Now we utilize mindfulness to develop wisdom.
From all the information we have.
We start to learn from our situations so we can manage better future situations.
When we do this.
.
.
We start to purify the mind of these experiences that are creating so much stress.
You'll start to notice improved emotional balance.
You'll start to notice you become less reactive.
You'll start to notice you'll be able to make more wiser decisions.
And this simply leads.
To a more happier.
Peaceful.
Mind.
And this is why mindfulness is so powerful and it's such an integral part of the Buddha's teachings.
And how it's helped millions of people's lives over thousands of years.
So thanks so much for watching.
