Welcome.
If you found your way here,
Because everything feels like it's getting on your last nerve today.
You're in the right place.
Maybe it was something big,
Or maybe,
And sometimes this can almost feel worse.
It was something ridiculously small.
Someone ask you one more question.
The house was too loud.
Something wasn't where it was supposed to be.
Her clothes suddenly felt uncomfortable.
If someone was chewing too loudly.
And you could feel your self-thinking I seriously cannot handle one more thing.
You see,
Perimenopause can bring moments when our emotions seem to go from 0 to 60 before we even realize what's happening.
So for the next few moments.
.
.
We're not going to judge the irritation.
We're not going to tell ourselves we shouldn't feel this way.
And we're definitely not going to pretend everything is fine.
We're simply going to give your mind and body.
Somewhere for all of that energy to go.
So when you're ready.
Find a comfortable position.
And I know even that can feel like a lot.
When you're already irritated.
So remember.
It doesn't have to be the perfect spot.
Just find somewhere you can be for the next few minutes.
If it feels safe to do so Allow your eyes to close.
And before trying to change anything.
Just simply notice.
Notice your jaw.
Your shoulders.
Your hands.
Your belly.
Maybe you're holding more tension than you realize.
I know this tension all too well myself.
Our fists ball up.
And quite frankly,
Sometimes we feel like we could just.
.
.
Scream.
So we're not going to pretend.
That energy isn't there.
If your hands are clenched.
Let them clench for a moment.
Press them into a pillow.
Your thighs or any other soft surface.
Just feel that tension Hold it.
And then release.
Open your hands.
And let your fingers soften.
And take a deep breath in through your nose.
And release it out through your mouth.
Again,
Breathing in.
.
.
And let it be a real exhale,
Sigh it out,
Make a sound.
Whatever you need in this moment.
Let it go Again,
Deep breath in.
Let it go.
Take this time as you breathe out.
Soften your jaw.
Allowing your fist to open.
Let your tongue relax away from the roof of your mouth.
Not because we're trying to silence what we're feeling or doing the opposite.
We're acknowledging it.
So if there's a word you've been holding back.
Maybe even a cuss word.
You've got a space right here.
To let it out.
Go ahead.
I won't judge.
Now let your shoulders drop just a little.
You don't have to force yourself to be calm.
You don't even have to feel calm yet.
Just give your body permission to soften.
Maybe say quietly to yourself.
I can feel this without becoming it.
Again,
I can feel this without becoming it.
Your frustration is here.
Your irritation may still be here.
But underneath all of it.
You're still here to.
I ask you to bring one hand to your heart.
And the other somewhere that feels grounding Maybe that's your belly.
Your leg or simply resting beside you.
And just feel the contact of your own hand.
A little reminder to your body.
I'm here.
Take another slow breath in.
And an even slower breath out.
Breathing in.
And as you exhale,
Let it be the release.
Maybe it's not of everything.
Just a little of what you've been carrying.
You don't need to solve the whole day right now.
You've allowed some of that energy to move.
You've unclenched your hands and released your jaw.
Maybe you've even let a few choice words fly.
And now.
You're safe to soften here.
You don't need to figure out why you're irritated right now.
And you don't need to apologize for having feelings.
You're simply creating a little space between what you're feeling and what you do next.
You're breathing in space.
Breathing out,
Soften.
Again,
Breathing in.
Allowing space Breathing out.
Softening.
Notice if anything has shifted.
Shoulders are lower.
Your hands feel softer Maybe your breath feels easier.
We're not looking for perfect calm.
We're simply creating enough room to choose our next moment.
And maybe carry this thought with you.
You don't have to quiet every feeling to find your ground.
Sometimes you just need enough space.
To hear yourself underneath the noise.
I want you to remember that.
I want you to also remember you can be irritated and still be grounded.
You can need space without pushing everyone away.
You can clench your fist into a pillow and you can let that cuss word fly.
You don't need to do any of this perfectly.
So maybe for just a moment.
Imagine all of us women here together.
Different homes.
Different lives.
Different things that got on our last damn nerve today.
Before this moment.
We're here together.
Breathing.
Softening.
And collectively letting some of it go.
You can have a hard moment without making it mean you're having a bad life.
And sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself and for everyone around you is give yourself a few minutes before you respond.
So I'm gonna leave you here for just a few quiet moments Whenever you're ready,
You can.
Return to your day.
And the space that you're in Gently wiggling your fingers and toes and slowly opening your eyes.
If today gets loud again.
Come back to your breath.
To your body,
To yourself.
Remembering this.
Collective time we spent as women together right here.
A reminder that you are not alone.
I'll meet you here whenever you need.
