There was a moment, long ago—before words—when trust quietly closed its petals. This guided meditation invites you to meet that tender place within, the part of you that learned to protect itself by turning inward. Through breath, presence, and gentle imagery, you are guided to remember your original nature—soft, open, and alive to the light. Like a flower slowly opening toward the sun, you are invited to soften, and allow life to meet you again. Music: Motion by Liborio Conti

Hello and welcome.

I'd like to welcome you here to this time together,

To this guided meditation,

To this speaking of trust.

And today I'll speak a little bit about my own experience recently,

And then I'll go into a few quotes about trust,

And then we'll gently head into the guided meditation.

So I invite you to just settle in,

Take a slow deep breath,

And just allow these words to reach you.

So this,

As I said,

Comes from a,

Was recently in a,

Just a group sitting satsang,

Speaking truth with others,

And we were talking,

Speaking about trust.

And at that moment I realized that I had a very young,

Tender part of myself that really struggled with trust and to trust.

And I thought this is a very vital subject to talk about and to go into in a very gentle,

Guided way.

So that's what brought this meditation on.

And now I'll read a few quotes.

One says,

Trust is the glue of life.

It is the most essential ingredient in effective communication.

It's the foundational principle that holds all relationships.

And that's Stephen R.

Covey.

And the other is,

To be trusted is a greater compliment than to be loved.

And oftentimes I know we think of love and how that's such an important thing,

And it is,

But if we don't trust,

Can we fully love either ourself or the other or others?

So now I invite you to just settle in more fully.

We'll head into our meditation.

And then just take a moment to arrive fully in your body.

Allow your body to settle just as it is.

There's nothing you need to change.

Nothing to fix.

Just feel the support beneath you.

The floor holding you without effort.

I invite you to take a deep breath in.

Gently let that go.

And another deep breath in.

Gently let that go.

And now just allow the breath to gently take its own course.

And begin to notice your breath.

Just notice.

Not controlling it.

Just noticing.

The natural rhythm of the inhale.

And exhale.

And if it feels safe,

I invite you to place one hand on your heart.

And if your eyes are not already closed,

I invite you to gently close your eyes.

Or maybe even soften the gaze if that feels better to you.

And again,

We're just going to place one hand on your heart.

Another on your belly.

A simple gesture of presence.

And now gently bring awareness to the idea of trust.

Not forcing an answer.

Not analyzing.

Just noticing what arises.

In your body.

When you hear the word trust.

Perhaps there's a softness.

Perhaps there's tension.

And perhaps there's nothing at all.

Whatever you're noticing,

Here is welcome.

And for many of us,

Like I mentioned,

The loss of trust happened very early.

So early that there may be no story.

No memory.

No words.

Just a knowing.

A feeling.

A moment when something essential closed inward.

And as you're feeling into this,

You may get a sense that this is a young inner part.

An infant.

A very small child.

And a tender moment that it was not safe to remain open.

There's no one to blame here.

No mistake.

Only intelligence.

Only survival.

And this closing was a form of protection.

I invite you to take a deep breath.

And gently acknowledge this part of you.

You might silently say,

I know you're trying to keep me safe.

And just notice how it feels to be witnessed.

Without being asked to change.

And as we move through life,

This early loss of trust can echo forward.

We may lose trust in ourselves.

In others.

In life itself.

Without realizing it,

We walk with guarded hearts.

Closed.

Careful.

Protected.

Not because we are broken.

But because something once hurt.

If this resonates,

I invite you to pause here.

Maybe the hand that's on the heart,

Allow it to make gentle circles.

Take some deep breaths.

And let there be compassion.

Let there be a holding.

Let there be grace.

And now imagine something very gentle.

Picture a seed.

Resting in the earth.

It does not rush.

It does not force itself open.

It waits.

For the right moment.

In its own time,

It begins to open.

Naturally.

Effortlessly.

Not because the world is perfect.

But because opening is its nature.

Sense this image within your body.

Perhaps in your chest.

Maybe in your belly.

You are not being asked to trust all at once.

You are not being asked to open fully.

Only to remember that openness is possible.

That it once existed.

Like an infant arriving into the world.

Soft,

Sensitive,

Open to life.

Breathing without effort.

Receiving without question.

This openness is now gone.

It may be quiet.

It may be hidden.

But it lives within you.

And as you breathe here.

Imagine this inner flower opening just a fraction.

Not to anyone else.

But to life itself.

To this moment.

There is no danger in opening one petal.

You remain in control.

You remain in control.

If it feels right,

Silently offer yourself these words.

I don't need to force trust.

I can let it return gently.

At my own pace.

Let these words land where they need to.

I don't need to force trust.

I can let it return gently.

At my own pace.

Rest here for a few breaths.

Noticing the breaths.

Feeling the quiet courage.

Of simply being open to what is.

Nothing more.

Begin to notice the space around you.

Gentle sounds.

The temperature of the air.

I invite you to gently wiggle your fingers and toes.

Slowly.

Gently.

And as you return,

Carry this knowing with you.

That trust is not something you create.

It is something you remember.

It unfolds like a flower turning toward the sun.

When the conditions feel safe enough.

I invite you to take one final breath in.

Gentle exhale.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Take your time.

Thank you so much for sharing your practice with me.

And this time,

This sacred time together,

I'm so grateful for you.

May you have a blessed day or evening.

And I love you because I can.
