I'm so grateful that you're here today.
Today's meditation is the Five Principles Meditation.
These five principles are based in the Reiki tradition.
The five principles of Reiki always begin with just for today.
Just for today,
I will let go of anger.
Just for today,
I will let go of worry.
Just for today,
I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today,
I will do my work honestly.
Just for today,
I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.
As you settle in for meditation,
Allow yourself to get comfortable,
Closing your eyes and feeling your whole body soften.
Take a nice inhale in and as you exhale,
Release and let go from the top of your head down your face,
Out your shoulders and arms.
Take another inhale and as you exhale,
Release from your chest,
Your belly,
And your hips.
One more inhale and exhale down your legs,
Your knees,
And out the soles of your feet.
With every breath you take,
Becoming more and more relaxed,
More relaxed and deeply at peace.
Now visualize roots extending down from your feet and the base of your spine,
Sinking deep down into the earth.
As you visualize these roots,
Notice they travel all the way down to the center of the earth.
Feeling rooted and grounded.
At the same time of feeling rooted and grounded to the earth,
Allow the earth energy to flow upward from the soles of your feet,
Up your legs,
Hips,
Trunk,
And filling your entire body.
Feeling the earth flowing within you,
Soft and sweet,
Flowing like a river or a stream and feeling completely at peace.
Visualize now yourself on a path in the forest.
As you walk down the path,
You notice the beautiful trees all around you.
The smell of pine cones.
The sun is shining through the leaves and the leaves are green and golden.
This feeling is warming and healing.
As you continue to walk on the path,
You notice in front of you a sacred gathering.
The sacred gathering is a circle of trees and you find yourself in the center.
As you find yourself in the center,
You allow yourself to feel completely supported.
You notice the smells.
The birds are singing.
The sun is shining.
And all is well in this moment.
As you stand in this beautiful circle of trees,
You almost feel as if the trees are swaying and gathering around you to support you at this time.
You hear like a whisper,
Just for today,
Do not worry.
Just for today,
Do not worry.
Just for today,
Do not worry.
All your worries float away.
The worries that you've been holding for so long slowly begin to release.
Take a moment and review your worries you're willing to release.
Surrender them to the wisdom of the forest.
Surrender them and feel the flow carried away on a soft breeze.
And now you hear these words whispered,
Just for today,
I will let go of anger.
Just for today,
I will let go of anger.
Just for today,
I will let go of anger.
Feeling the resentment that you may be carrying in your heart,
This feeling of loss,
Anger,
Betrayal.
Your heart feels heavy.
Your shoulders are tense.
And as you review these feelings of anger and resentment,
You know it is time to surrender them now.
You've been holding onto these for so long.
So long that it has made you unwell.
So long that there are times that it takes over your entire being.
You are ready now to release them and to surrender.
Take a moment and feel your heart center.
Release resentment and release the anger.
Feel the tightness of your heart and chest relax.
And feel a new lightness enter your heart.
Feel the lightness in your heart as all anger and resentment has slowly been released.
And now you hear these words whispered,
Just for today,
I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today,
I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today,
I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Begin to review the many blessings in your life.
The blessings for this new day.
The blessings for all the loved ones in your life.
The blessings for a safe and warm home.
The blessings for your breath.
Also give blessings for perhaps the things did not seem as blessings at the time,
But lessons that you have learned.
Bless all your many blessings.
As you inhale and exhale,
Feel your body completely relaxed,
Warm and open.
As you give thanks for your many blessings.
And now you hear these words whispered,
Just for today,
I will do my work honestly.
Just for today,
I will do my work honestly.
Just for today,
I will do my work honestly.
Allowing yourself to be with honesty.
The true nature of who you are.
Being in alignment.
Allowing yourself to live from a place of purpose,
Honesty and love.
Being honest with yourself means being true to yourself.
Allow yourself to honor who you are,
Your specialness,
Your uniqueness.
Not trying to change for anyone.
Showing up and being you.
As you stand now in gratitude,
You are filled with this feeling of peace and joy and love.
Thank yourself.
Thank your spirit.
And thank the sacred grove,
The forest,
The trees,
For allowing you to be just for today.
