This isn't about us as human beings.
This is about what life is doing.
This is about what life has created.
This is about a simple opportunity to just be alive and move in whatever way it moves us so that we might see things more clearly.
And seeing things more clearly doesn't have to mean anything about the future.
We can just see it now and appreciate it now.
And in that,
Allow there to be this surrendering that just gives it all back to life,
Gives it all back to God.
I love how there's not a demand,
Right?
Life isn't judging you.
Life isn't saying you should have.
Life is just saying,
I love you.
And I really hope you can feel into that.
Let's just take a moment and acknowledge that this is where we are.
We've consciously chosen to be here.
And we're going to just fully allow ourselves to be here.
Let's just breathe into that.
And also,
While we're here in this space,
Recognizing that,
Let's also just acknowledge the stillness that is here behind all of the mind's noise.
Like no matter what you're thinking about,
There's that same stillness that's always been there.
This stillness is a space that just allows everything to be what it is.
It's always been that way.
In this space,
There's no argument with anything that might arise or anything that might fall away.
Everything is just allowed.
And we can honor that space.
We can honor the magnitude of this,
That,
Oh my goodness,
No matter how lost I get in the mind,
No matter the 10,
000 things I can think about,
This space or this presence that holds it all remains untouched by everything.
And just invite a gratitude for that space.
It never leaves.
It's always there.
So obviously it's our true home.
And this is a great little segue to what I want to speak on briefly.
I was writing yesterday something called Illusion of Me and the Reality of God.
And I found it so funny because every time I put my heart in this direction to be still and question what's really true,
I can't escape the reality that my adorable human struggle is so intent on believing in the reality of me.
The reality that who I think I am is going somewhere.
The reality that I have something that can be lost.
The reality that things are personal.
The reality that I think I know how life should be moving.
And it becomes absurd.
It becomes absurd because when I look at this reality of me,
I can't find much reality in it other than my thinking about it.
And this isn't in any way to judge that.
It's to be fascinated.
Can we recognize that?
And of course I can only speak about myself,
But it appears that we seem to be having a very similar experience.
That in all the noise I get caught up in,
Every tiny tension that might arise,
Somehow it revolves around me protecting an idea of myself.
Revolves around me being afraid of not getting what I want or what I think I need.
And it's been like this my whole life.
And I see the journey where before this recognition of looking beyond the veil,
All of these assumptions of blame,
If only this,
If only that,
Yada,
Yada,
Yada,
Yada.
And now there's this gentleness that ultimately sees there's not much to argue with because I'm the one that's creating the mess.
I'm the one that's taking things personally that aren't really personal.
I'm the one that's believing that I'm missing something when really I'm not.
This is why for me,
This becomes the most important thing.
Like seeing the truth of what's actually happening.
Because it is seen that every difficulty,
Let's say sufferable difficulty,
Is created by this innocent misunderstanding.
That's projecting something from the mind and then believing the projection.
That is thinking that something's happening that's not actually happening.
Where else can you go other than to see things more clearly?
All of the answers of yesterday were about gaining control over something.
Trying to make other people how I wanted them to be.
And all of this went nowhere,
Of course.
So where else can I go but to come home and see what's true?
And of course this coming home to see what's true is the great surrendering of this ego.
And again,
Not in any judgmental way,
Not in any sort of argumentative way,
But just a gentle seeing that sees a little bit of what's actually true here.
Which in some way can be said,
Oh I'm making this about me.
And it's not.
Can you recognize that in your own experience?
Wherever there might be tension or these flavors of fear,
Whether it's resentment or unforgiveness or any argument,
Where there might be this movement to make it about you.
And I love how we can check in every week because we can just look at the past week.
Be like,
Oh yeah,
I saw it happen there.
Oh yeah,
It happened there too.
Yeah.
And we can take a moment and just forgive all of it because what was it?
Oh,
It was an innocent misunderstanding.
And the best part about this,
The absolute best part about this for me,
Is that as we check in and see it,
It's like nothing actually happened because here we are again and everything's the same.
We're just right back to that stillness,
Where we imagined a week that went by.
And so that's what this space is for me.
And I know a lot of you guys,
That's what it is for you too,
To just take a moment and forgive it all.
To gently,
Beautifully,
And humbly get off of our imaginary high horse and realize that life is utterly beautiful.
And we don't need to be better than anyone else.
We don't need to be right.
We can just love everyone and everything as they are.
At least we see that that option is available.
You see how important it is to forgive yourself in this?
Because so easily we can just turn this into another quest of self-judgment.
Like,
Oh,
I did it wrong.
No,
You did what every other human being is doing.
Welcome to the club.
Now if you want to be better than other human beings,
Okay,
You're going to have a problem.
But if we can just see the beautiful equality that this isn't about us as human beings,
This is about what life is doing.
This is about what life has created.
This is about the simple opportunity to just be alive and move in whatever way it moves us so that we might see things more clearly.
And seeing things more clearly doesn't have to mean anything about the future.
We can just see it now and appreciate it now.
And in that,
Allow there to be this surrendering that just gives it all back to life,
Gives it all back to God.
At least that's the option,
The invitation.
I love how there's not a demand.
And see that.
Life isn't judging you.
Life isn't saying you should have.
Life is just saying,
I love you,
And I really hope you can feel into that.
Let's just take a moment and feel into that.
Feel that there isn't any judgment there.
There isn't any should have.
There is simply this immensity of life held together by love,
Extending a beautiful freedom to all that is.
The rain is allowed to rain.
The wind is allowed to blow.
The sun is allowed to rise.
And you are unquestionably allowed to have your human experience.
