Let's just take a moment and allow your body to be as comfortable as it can be.
We start with a breath.
Breathing in very deeply and try to breathe into all the aspects,
Like breathe,
Fill your lungs,
Focus on bringing the energy from the breath down,
Down,
Down to the lower chakras,
Noticing if there's any mental chatter and just invite that to come back later.
All the thoughts that want to remind you or want to pull you,
Just like shh,
I'll get to that later.
This is my time so I want you to really be protective of this time.
Be as present as you can be physically and mentally.
And in this meditation we're going to talk about being grounded in times of insanity.
How do you keep your peace when things in the world seem chaotic?
How do you be with grief?
So just taking a moment and just give yourself permission right now to receive all that's here for you in this meditation.
Trusting and knowing that your soul has you here for a reason and so I want you to decide right now.
I say yes to receiving the guidance,
The wisdom,
Strength.
I say yes to receiving all that's here for me right now.
Taking another deep breath.
So when we're knocked off-center it's two things.
It's first our minds,
Our brains get information.
They might see the news or we hear the stories or we read something that somebody's died or there's a loss or something horrific happens or our mind kicks in and we begin to tell the stories or we begin to spin around in the story.
Maybe not even tell the stories but be a part of the horror or the shock.
So part of it is in the mind but the other part is in the body because when we are exposed to tragedy,
When we're exposed to things in the world that are just bigger than we can even fathom,
Suffering,
Loss,
Our nervous system isn't really designed to have the constant barrage daily of those occurrences.
So there's almost like a nervous system just overwhelmed,
Shut down.
So first wherever you are is okay.
So I want you to imagine right now you could kind of like just slowly begin maybe stroking your arms or just wrap yourself like you know that little butterfly kiss or hug where you're just kind of grabbing your arms or folding your arms over your chest and where you just if you're in a place where you can maybe be sitting maybe just kind of start rocking.
And we want to just say to the body this is a lot.
This is a lot to take in.
The world events,
The loss,
The death,
The overwhelming things in our personal lives.
So we want to acknowledge that this is a lot to hold.
And sometimes you might want to feel like just going numb and sometimes you just want to feel like checking out and getting distracted.
So what if you had peace in your body?
What if you basically said to the body whatever you need to do is what you need to do.
And I love how you are supporting me.
No judgment.
Just witnessing.
Just holding.
You might say to the body something like I know you're scared.
I feel you.
You should be scared.
This is kind of scary.
It's a lot.
It's really a lot.
And you're holding so much right now.
I know.
It's really hard.
It's a lot.
And I can hold this with you.
So envisioning that you are the loving presence is just holding the body having an experience.
No trying to change it or remove it.
Just I hear you.
I see you.
You should feel this way.
And just notice maybe the witnessing,
Maybe the presence is allowing a softening.
Not that you're trying to control or force it,
But maybe it softens.
Maybe there's a validation that perhaps your body is just doing what it needs to do and there's no fighting,
No resisting any longer.
And see if you can just breathe even more deeply into this space.
And as I'm doing this with you,
I'm noticing my body is relaxing.
And now I want you to go to the mind,
The stories,
The place where we make meaning of things.
And lots of times when we see horrific events unfold or another school shooting or lost,
Somebody's died or there's another tragedy,
It's just there is horror.
There's a natural horror.
We wouldn't be humans if we didn't feel horror.
And I just want you to observe what else is there.
Maybe there's a story or an idea that this shouldn't happen,
This isn't right.
So just observe.
Whatever brought you here to this meditation,
There's something that you are being with.
And I don't know if we can ever have peace when there are children being murdered at schools,
But we can have moments of peace.
We should never be at peace with that.
Can we be in moments of peace in our bodies,
In our minds?
So it's kind of like the dance of being with what is,
But right now that's what is.
And what would it take for you in your mind to find peace?
It doesn't done the horror,
It doesn't change the horror,
But in these moments can you find something where you coexist with it,
Where you're strong in yourself,
Where you're like,
I can't fix that,
But I can love on my children more.
Can't negate that this happened and maybe I could show a little more kindness to somebody.
So when those events happen,
It brings us to our knees because we are out of control.
We feel powerless.
There's nothing we can do.
So my invitation,
Where do you have control?
Where is their power?
Where can you just say,
Wait a minute,
In my little slice of the world,
There's a heck of a lot that I can make good.
Taking a moment right now and just allow your mind to search for the places where you are making a difference or where you could make a difference,
Where you are the light,
You are the answer prayer.
So just take a moment and find that for yourself.
And notice as you find that what's happening in your body and in your mind.
And if it's at all possible,
Whatever the tragedy is or the difficulty that you're experiencing,
I want you to envision energetically that you can move it.
So if right now it's sitting on the table in front of you energetically,
I want you to put it in a different room in your mind,
Move it to the closet.
And what I mean by that is you're just giving yourself some distance from the thing that is creating the challenge in you.
You could also give it to God or give it to creator,
Whatever you think of.
It's like I can't do anything about this situation and I'm gonna turn it over.
I'm gonna surrender this.
I'm powerless to impact this right now,
But I'm gonna turn it over.
Now get back to what can I impact?
Where does my magnificence come in?
The light in me,
The love I have?
Ask to be shown one place that you could just amplify that,
Where you're in your sovereignty,
You're being the magic that you are,
And you see that you make a difference for somebody.
And you're a little corner of the world,
You are making an impact.
Take another deep breath.
I want you to go back,
If you've stopped,
Go back to just kind of rocking and petting your arms and just honoring this beautiful body.
Just say,
I gotcha.
I gotcha.
All is well.
Taking another breath.
Beautiful.
I'm gonna invite you to return slowly to the consciousness,
To come back to the sound of my voice and feel yourself more present in your room.
Maybe begin to move your toes,
Touching the earth,
Move your neck around.
I'm glad you're meditating with me.
Peace and blessings for a beautiful day.
