Hello,
I'm Abbey and this is a story called Ten Green Bottles.
I wrote the story about ten cheeky genies to help young people learn their numbers from one to ten and it's based on the original Ten Green Bottles rhyme for children.
Do you know it?
Good.
The genies are all trapped inside bottles and each find their own unique way to escape.
A beautifully illustrated paperback version of this book is available for sale on Amazon.
Ten green bottles sitting on a wall,
Ten green bottles with a genie in them all,
And as one genie stretches,
Oops,
The bottle breaks as he grows tall.
Now there's nine green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Nine green bottles with a genie in them all,
And if one genie sneezes,
A-a-a-choo,
Oops,
God bless you,
The others call.
Now there's eight green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Eight green bottles with a genie in them all,
And if one plays soccer,
Way-ay,
Oops,
There goes his bottle with the ball.
Now there's seven green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Seven green bottles with a genie in them all,
And if one whips up a storm,
Whoo,
Oops,
His bottle shatters in the squall.
Now there's six green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Six green bottles with a genie in them all,
And if one goes for a swim,
Splish splash splash,
Oops,
She'll break the glass with her front crawl.
Now there's five green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Five green bottles with a genie in them all,
And if one swings on a rope,
Whee,
Oops,
His bottle shakes and then it falls.
Now there's four green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Four green bottles with a genie in them all,
And if one eats too much cake,
Yum yum yum yum yum,
Whoops,
The bottle now becomes too small.
So there's three green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Three green bottles with a genie in them all,
And if one burps loud and long,
Burp,
Oops,
He may say pardon me y'all,
But now there's two green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Two green bottles with a genie in them all,
And if one fights with the other,
Oof,
Ouch,
Eek,
Oops,
The bottle splinters in the brawl.
Now there's no green bottles left sitting on the wall,
Oh no.
