Goddess Aphrodite is a mostly known as a Goddess of love. However she is also the Goddess of war. We war with our lovers and with the love within ourselves, and this meditation speaks to those parts. You will connect with Aphrodite who will hold you with compassion, and will also hold you to taking healing action quickly. For we cannot change our warring selves if we never make changes to our warring actions, words or thoughts.

Welcome to this meditation on the goddess Aphrodite.

You find yourself walking on the coast of Cyprus.

You hear the waves gently crashing,

Feeling it break over your feet as you walk on the dampened sand.

You feel the wind of the ocean kissing your skin.

You breathe.

You open your eyes,

Finding your feet have continued taking you down the coast.

You look out over the turquoise waters and see the water foaming in the distance.

A feeling of knowing comes over you.

Dolphins play,

Jump,

And flip through a large incoming wave.

It breaks down the center and Aphrodite appears.

She is wearing a crown of roses atop her head,

Scalloped shells on her ears and around her neck,

And she wears honey over her body.

It drips over her beautiful belt atop her hips.

She is a seductress,

Enigmatic,

A force.

The ocean opens up to you and you walk to meet her with the walls of water at your side.

The fish of the ocean look at you.

You can feel their attention,

But you focus your presence on the force of Aphrodite.

Once you are in front of her,

You both bow your heads at one another.

What did you call me for,

My love?

What did you call me for,

My love?

Your heart breaks and you feel the war that has been going on inside of you.

She feels it and speaks.

The war inside of you is normal.

No one can escape tumultuous feelings.

Whether we fight on land or in our souls,

We are beings of this earth and the war is a part of being human.

We feel deep pain so that we can also feel the deepest of love.

Do not resist the emotional war within yourself,

My love.

Feel it now and I will be here.

I will make sure that you are safe while you access these feelings.

Your heart breaks open.

Feel into the pain and the vulnerability.

I will hold you until it eases.

My love,

You have opened yourself.

I acknowledge you for your bravery,

For the act of emotionally opening takes great strength when you have kept yourself so protected.

You came here for answers.

Listen to your heart.

My love,

The answers that have come to you require timely actions,

For I am not a patient goddess.

When the matters of love are at hand,

We must take accountability for our actions.

My love,

The answers that have come to you require timely actions,

For I am not a patient goddess.

When the matters of love are at hand,

We must take accountability for ourselves,

Mend and repair quickly.

Recognize the best way to love ourselves and others and take action.

Take action from love and only love,

For the war inside of us that we feel is our tender and vulnerable hearts,

Rebelling and trying to protect us from further hurt.

Answering with war will not bring us the resolution of love we seek.

We must ask for love by meeting it with love.

Through each breath,

You feel yourself being pulled back to the beach of Cyprus,

As you watch the walls of water filling the path that led you to Aphrodite.

She is still gazing at you as you gaze back.

As you reach the beach and the ocean fully closes off the path,

You bow your head to the lady of the sea in gratitude.

As you breathe,

Picture offerings that appear at the waterline as offerings of your gratitude.

Rock roses,

Honey,

Grass lilies,

Beautiful shells or pomegranates.

Pretty words or lovely silks.

Coming back now to this time,

To this space,

Take a moment to get your journal and consider.

In this moment,

Do I need to repair?

To get your journal and consider.

In this moment,

Do I need to repair and give love to someone else?

Or in this moment,

Do I need to recognize that to meet love with love,

That looks like me taking care of myself.

My needs,

My boundaries around my emotions and what is acceptable and how I am allowing myself to be treated.
