A warm welcome to day nine of this 10-day meditation challenge.
As always,
It really is my pleasure to spend this time with you.
Today's meditation offers you the opportunity to connect more deeply to Mother Earth and the seasons of your life.
May this bring you a dual sense of gratitude and connection.
So as always,
Getting comfortable and inviting your eyes to gently close.
And offering your awareness over to your breath.
And for the next few moments,
Can you allow the rhythm of your breath to connect you to the rhythm of life.
Always changing.
Tides rolling in and out.
Sun moving across the sky.
The moon waxing and waning.
Seasons transitioning.
And now together,
Let's structure our breath for greater connection to Mother Earth.
As you breathe in,
Imagining that the air is travelling through your nose and down your spine,
Arriving at the base of your spine.
And as you breathe out,
Imagining that the air is travelling through your pelvis and hips down your legs and out the soles of your feet into the earth beneath you.
On the in-breath,
Life force travelling down each vertebrae of your spine and landing at the base.
On the out-breath,
Life force travelling down your legs and leaving through the soles of your feet into the earth below.
Each cycle of breath connecting you to Mother Earth.
Reminding you that you are not alone.
Our energetic body travels deep into the earth like the twisted roots of an old and wise tree.
Imagining these energetic roots travelling through the soil,
Rocks,
Crystals and minerals all the way to the centre of the earth.
Resting here,
Body breathing,
Heart beating,
Tethered to Mother Earth through your energetic roots.
And now holding in your mind's eye your neighbourhood and the natural environment where you live.
Or perhaps imagining a place in nature that you really enjoy visiting.
Bringing the details to mind.
Noticing the features that reveal the season you are in.
Seeing,
Sensing,
Feeling or imagining the colours,
The temperature in the air,
The way the light falls.
Noticing what the trees are doing.
Curiosity deepening now as you open to noticing what this season represents in nature.
What does it symbolise?
What function does it serve?
And as best you can,
Seeing if you can make a connection with this season and your own life.
In what way is your life being reflected in the natural season?
What themes are being played out in nature and within you?
Remembering that you are part of nature.
And asking your season,
What message do you have for me?
What wisdom can you share?
Breathing this wisdom in,
Allowing it to travel down your body and out through the soles of your feet,
Returning once more to earth.
On the in breath,
Breathing in the energy and wisdom of the season you are in,
All the way down your spine.
And on the out breath,
Breathing this wisdom out through the soles of your feet and back into the earth below.
With each full cycle of breath,
Remembering that you are part of the cycle of life.
Feeling grateful for this remembrance,
This embodied knowing that you are held by the seasons and by nature.
Taking one deep and cleansing breath,
Opening your eyes when you're ready.
May you move through your day feeling supported by nature and the changing seasons.
