When you pay attention to it, your breath automatically slows down and within 3 minutes only, it activates the PNS - the part of our nervous system in charge of our resting and healing. When you label your feelings and emotions, you become an observer and unconsciously detach yourself from them. When you feel stressed, overwhelmed, when you can't think straight, follow this mini meditation to stop the stress response in your body and gain serenity. 3 Minutes, that's all. Give it a try!

Relaxing 3 minutes by the Happiness Society.

Begin by sitting comfortably or standing.

Making sure that your back is straight as this alert posture will send the message to your brain that you're going to make a change.

And ask yourself,

What's up right now?

What is your state of mind?

What are you thinking?

What are you feeling?

Which emotions or sensations are stronger in your experience in this moment?

Just checking and acknowledging thoughts,

Sensations,

Feelings.

Now gently bringing your awareness to your breath.

Just following each breath.

Each in-breath,

Each out-breath.

Not changing anything.

Just paying attention to your breath as it is.

Just breathing.

And now expanding your awareness to your breath and your body as a whole.

Paying attention to your body breathing.

The breath and the body.

Breathing in to any tension that may be there.

Opening,

Softening.

Allowing what is there to be.

Aware of the breath.

Aware of the body.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes and start re-engaging with the world around you.
