Good morning,
Welcome to a new day.
You are a visitor here again on this planet Earth today,
Among the stars in a vast universe.
You may find yourself resting still,
Lying down,
Or maybe seated.
Bringing your hands to rest on your heart,
Taking a moment to say a thank you within yourself for the chance to awaken this day.
Feeling that gratitude begin to radiate from your heart a glowing warmth,
Expanding,
Extending now through your chest and back.
The gratitude,
The warmth,
It grows bigger still.
Flowing into your hips,
Your legs,
Your arms.
Keeping your hands on your heart,
Or bringing them down to rest comfortably by your sides.
Settling in to the physical being you have awoken within today.
Listening to what sounds greet you from beyond this recording,
Perhaps somewhere in the distance.
Noticing the sound of my voice,
Imagining that sound arrive to your ear,
The bones absorbing the vibration in the air,
Transmitting them to the fluid of your inner ear,
Converting them into electrical signals perceived as sound in your mind.
Eyes open now,
Taking in what is around you.
If you've begun the day before the dawn,
Take in the morning darkness.
If light illuminates the space,
Allow your eyes to fall on something and linger there.
Absorb the color,
The texture,
The shape.
Feeling within your body what it is like to take this sight in through your eyes.
The cells in your eyes converting light waves into electrical signals that become images in your mind.
Eyes close now,
Breathe in,
Feel the air enter you.
Feel it flow through your nose or over your tongue,
Breathe out.
Breathe in again deeply,
Noticing what it is like to feel your ribs expand,
Your belly expand as you breathe even deeper,
Breathe out.
Allow your body to breathe however it desires to breathe.
You are alive here,
Vibrantly alive.
Bringing awareness now to your being,
Your physical existence here.
If I am the surface supporting your body,
The bed,
The chair,
The ground,
The weight of your hips and legs presses down upon me.
The warmth of your body radiates into me.
If I am the air around you,
Your exhales release moisture and warmth into me.
If I am light emanating nearby,
Your clothing absorbs or reflects me before I reach what's on the other side of you.
If I am the space around you,
I am bathed in a magnetic field generated by the electrical current in your heart.
You're here,
You're alive.
Allowing this knowing to resonate in your being.
Notice what you feel in your body,
What sensations arise when you become aware of your being.
If a sensation is welcome,
Stay with it.
Notice where it is and what it's like.
If a sensation is too much,
Reach into it and pull just one tiny grain to feel right now.
Bringing rest to your nervous system now,
Exhale.
Breathing in deeply,
Filling up your chest,
Your belly,
Even your pelvis,
Holding the breath and counting with me for five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Blowing it out,
Contracting your abdomen to push the air slowly out through your lips.
Now on your own,
Two more cycles of breath moving through the inhale,
Then hold for five and blowing all of the air out before you breathe in again.
As you breathe,
Noticing the sensation of the air moving.
Allowing yourself to breathe naturally now.
Taking the tip of your finger and placing it beneath your nose,
Above your lips,
Pressing firmly in that spot just below your nose,
Noticing the pressure.
Keeping it there for a time,
I'll let you know when to release.
If it feels good,
Moving your fingertip in small circles as you press.
Now releasing your fingertip,
Bringing your hands to rest by your sides.
Bringing gentle movement into the body now,
Beginning to move the feet,
Perhaps circling the ankles,
Perhaps extending your feet to point your toes.
Now tightening the muscles in the lower legs,
The thighs,
The glutes,
Squeezing it all tight,
Tight,
Tight,
Then release.
Maybe bring a little stretch or squirm into the hips,
Squeezing,
Relaxing.
Moving your upper body now,
However feels good to you.
Rolling the shoulders back or twisting at the waist or shaking the arms.
Bringing your hands together in front of your heart,
Your palms pressed together.
Pressing harder,
Feeling the force of your muscles,
Then pressing softer,
Feeling them barely touch.
Choosing whatever amount of pressure between your palms feels good to you.
Now sending an intention into the day ahead to experience the fullness of your aliveness.
Opening your palms to form a bowl now,
Receive the day ahead as it pours into them,
Pours into your being on this earth,
Among the stars in a vast universe.
