Hi,
I'm Shania Gordon and I am so glad you're here.
I'm a mindfulness meditation teacher and this session is called Drifting into the Clouds.
It's designed to help you reduce stress and find peace.
But before we begin,
I would love to acknowledge a few things.
The practices I share,
They're rooted in ancient mindfulness traditions and they originated in South and Southeast Asia.
I offer them here in a trauma-informed secular way.
I also just want to remind you that this space is yours.
There's nothing you need to get right or push through.
You are in full control of your experience and my guidance,
It's just an invitation.
Your body and your spirit get the final say.
So when you are ready,
I invite you to find a comfortable position.
Either lying down,
Seated,
Just allow your body to feel supported.
And if it's comfortable for you,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and exhale fully through your mouth,
Letting go of tension.
And again,
Inhale and exhale.
Allowing your body and mind to settle.
Bring awareness to your breath.
Notice it's steady,
Calming rhythm.
With each inhale,
Invite calm and lightness.
With each exhale,
Release heaviness,
Stress,
Or worry.
Now,
Imagine yourself rising gently into the sky.
You are surrounded by soft,
Fluffy clouds.
And maybe you can feel yourself being cradled by their gentle support,
Drifting effortlessly,
Weightless,
And free.
With each breath,
Feel yourself sinking deeper into relaxation.
The clouds carry you slowly,
Safely,
And peacefully.
Notice the sky around you,
The colors,
The sunlight,
The sense of vast openness.
Silently repeat to yourself,
I am light,
I am free,
I release what no longer serves me.
I float peacefully,
Supported and calm.
I am safe,
I am relaxed,
I am at ease.
As you drift,
Imagine any tension,
Worries,
Or stress melting away,
Dissolving into the clouds and leaving you lighter with every breath.
Feel your mind becoming clear,
Your heart calm,
And your body completely supported.
Take a few more slow,
Deep breaths,
Anchoring this sense of lightness,
Freedom,
And peace into your being.
When you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to your physical body.
Feel the support beneath you,
Maybe notice the air around you.
I invite you to take one final deep breath in and exhale fully.
Gently open your eyes or keep them closed if you're continuing to rest.
Carry the sense of calm,
Lightness,
And freedom with you throughout your day,
Knowing you can return to drifting into the clouds anytime you wish to help yourself release stress or float into peace.
Acknowledge yourself for showing up for some mindfulness today.
It has been a pleasure to guide you.
I am grateful for the path,
The practice,
And most of all you,
The community.
Until next time.
